where do u wana live? if not edmonton where and why?

arabian_ryda
i choose no. i fucking hate the whether and the roads. just horrible but again this city has it plus`s. find it really boring now nothing really to do the bar scene is played out and how many movies and walks can u really take before it gets boring. california always been on my list of to go places. i wonder what it would be like to go start fresh in cali.

I'm just counting the days until I leave. As much as I love Cali the housing market is so ridiculous that it just isn't worth living there unless I'm a millionaire. I plan on moving to Vancouver island, can still get a nice house for a decent chunk of change and you are close to the ocean

Just make sure you have a good job lined up cause work there isnt that abundant

I would love to live in cali minus the mad emissions laws.

that would screw me.

Alberta sucks but it's not the worst.

I can honestly say I haven't travelled enough to decide whether I'd want to plant my roots in Edmonton.

For myself, I'm not the type of person that would want to jump around the globe to find out where to live. I'd much rather travel in my spare time and discover it.

About the only thing I've decided is that I'd like to have a winter house down south somewhere for when I'm older.

REFLUX
I could see myself calling Edmonton home for the rest of my life.

This city has a lot to provide but it's only found by those who look for them.

stealth
Compton.

Couple more years till I'm done school, work full time for a year at home to save $$$ untill the parents kick me out, then I'm getting the fuck down to Arizona.

arabian_ryda
u know u wana leave but at the same time u wana stay. the healthcare system is next to mint here. i go into a hospital and see a doctor in 10 minutes dignosed feed whatever u want free. hard to beat that u know. int he us u have to sell your house to fight a cold.

tokes
Yeah?

In the US I can afford a house.

My brother just bought his first house, and they got a good deal because his fiance works for Sarasota homes. 540K for a 1300 square foot bungalow. In arizona you can pick up something bigger for under 200K.

And it's called health insurance. You can get coverage just as good as up here, you just have to pay a bit more. But I'd rather pay 200 a month more for health insurance than 2000 a month more for a house, and having to live with crappy weather.

arabian_ryda
good points. calis that expensive eh. hows miami worse?

tokes
Some parts of california are horrendus, some parts are good for housing. Parts of northern california are much less densely populated and more affordable to live than southern california. Miami in general is going to be bad for housing, just like living in any already heavily populated area.

My brothers house is in St. Albert, not California. I don't know if that's what you meant by your post or not, but I thought I'd clear that up.

oldraven
Well, most of you know my story. I don't think I have to go over it again.

Wookey
Myself, im just waiting until the spring and then i get to leave this so called "City of Champions" which is really just a " Farmers Field with a Ditch in the Middle of it." I'm moving back to Vancouver area in BC. THANK GOD.

Eclipser
I honestly would like to move to texas somewhere. But i dont know if i could leave all my friends here in edmonton, or find a decent job in texas. So i'm staying here for now. Probally forever unless i strike it rich. So i'll be here forever.

Invalid Zero
I can see myself raising my kids here, but I plan on retiring in the okanogan. Something like Summerland would be nice.

Jojdm
Daytona beach, FLA

not too sure :dunno:, but i love vancouver so i wouldn't mind moving down there

jordanturbo
Im hoping to be transfered to one of my companies many offices in the states in the next couple years. Hopefully arizona since i love just about everything aabout it, crazy dry heat, big rec lake, nice roads, a population made of of more white collar ppl in the computer industry vs rig pigs, lower taxes, cheaper cost of living, etc. plus then I can live in my parents house down there before they decide to retire in a few years.

but with the average house price starting to drop ( over 20,000 from july 1 to aug 1) in might not be so unreasonable to stay up here, since i would be taking a big pay cut going to the states

lowslowcorrado
Definatley not here, unless housing prices drop dramatically. Its shitty weather, crime filled and dirty as shit. I like Edmonton for the most part, but with the downfalls, it makes it rediculous to pay the sort of money it costs to live here. I need to be closer to the ocean and mountains if I am paying 400k for a house in a decent neighborhood.

dwarfy123
I want to move to the coast as soon as I can. Vancouver is such a nice city compared to edmonton. You have ocean on one side, mountains on the other. All you have in edmonton is flat land for miles. Not that I hate edmonton, but after living here for 18 years, its starting to get played out.

tho_chi
Vancouver would be nice but I don't like how it rains their a majority of the year. Its overcast a lot, rarely a full blue sky.. I'd rather pack up and head for arizona. Everything is nicer there. Went there last summer and had a great time. Plus you can slam your car:thumbup:

Prudz_lude
Calgary is where i would want to move to. Biggest business sector in western Canada, lots of wealth in the city, great road system compared to edmonton, great mountain view and close for snowboarding, the city looks great and is affordable regardless of what you guys say, and the plus is i can still drive down or flydown when ever i feel like visting friends and family.

BigDaddyLeo
I'd move back to North Van, simply because the drivers here suck.

Flamewerkz
God in Heaven No! I'm just counting the 28 days I got left till I go back to Germany. Finally after 5 years. Edmonton sucks for the most part, also Health Care here is a POS Joke compared to Europe and the doctors here are idots.
