I plan to fight a ticket, however I have been traveling for the last 2 months and when I get home I am going straight to work (Working in the middle of saskatchewan for a 30 day gas plant shutdown) as I have no more money.
My court date is in the middle of the month and I can not afford to up and leave the job, both professionally and financially. I was wondering if the courts will accept this as a reason to extend the proceedings?
I have read about people asking for more time and putting it off for 2 or 3 months. Which would also help me prepare for the case (as I have been busy traveling (which I admit is no excuse but it is the truth))
Can someone advise?
Thank-you for your time |

| I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem if you inform them and give them notice long before the court date. I don't see that as being a problem... good luck with whatever you're contesting! |

Why not just pay the ticket?
If you're that busy who is to say that when the next court date is scheduled you'll actually be free? |

Because of the obvious. I am not guilty of what I was charged with
I had this job planned since before I got the ticket and before I left for vacation. If I have an extra 3 months or even 2 months, I can schedule around it. I just put things off and was super busy with life to deal with this petty charge.
Thanks for your support diesekiel I will contact the correct people who deal with this. |

| go to the court house before your date (traffic court), you can plead not guilty, and set a date |
