24 hour drive through my fucking nut sack! - Click HERE for Original Thread

Turb0.ed.v6
So it's 1am and me and a friend just left another friends house.... starving like balls we decide to head to northgate's wendies to grab some food. I am aware they are renovating but they say the drive through is still open 24/7... drive up to the speaker and wait for about 5 minutes no one answering... go to the window and we see workers cleaning but no one decides to help..

Okay w/e namao's 24hour mc dicks will have to do...
Get to the drive through and we see a truck at the last window and my friend is almost certain he saw a bag handed to the driver from the window... My friend drives through the drive through first... no one comes to the window... we decide okay fuck lets go back and wait longer... another 5 minutes past.. nothing.

Fed up we decide fuck lets to to clairview's wendies as my friend claims he's been there before late and it was still open... get to wendies and what a fucking surprise workers inside cleaning.. but no help.

FUCK YOU FAST FOOD 24HOUR DRIVE THROUGH MY FUCKING FAT BALLS.

On a lighter note.... does anyone know of any reliable places for some fatening food incase this happens again? :fingersx:

Ayeso
Yeah its pretty brutal... usually wendies is open till 3 am.. we went at 10pm on a friday and it was closed. From my experience on the south / central ish side of town there is only 2 or 3 places 24 hour...

Mcdonalds on gateway is open 24 guaranteed
The one on 82 and 75th is open 24 everytime i have been by.
The one on 104th ave and like 112th street or w/e is open late lots.

Tim hortons at most places are open late too

+1 for timmies I have gone to so many McD's to sit and wait for 5 minutes to find know one there even at 2:00 in the afternoon.

Don't know about week nights, but the A&W on Calgary Trail just south of Whitemud is open 24hr fri/sat nights.

almost as bad as what happened to me a couple months back, I got in the drive through lineup which was fairly long to begin with, get past the point of no return and then the line slows to an absolute crawl. was in the line up for 45 minutes to get to the window and be told that they don't have enough staff to server people, this was at 9pm to boot. but instead of blocking off the drive through they served a few of the cars and then took their sweet ass time letting the rest of the people in line that they wouldn't serve them.

I must add my bitch also...

I went through a Wendys drive through last night in GP. They charged me an extra .25 cents for the "convience" of using interac.

on another note... why are all these oil field towns being infested by philipinoes?? Like every Tims, Wendys and Mc D's is owned / operated and lived in by these folks....

One bitched me out for being a PENNY short.

cause you gotta start somewhere... i stopped going to timmies cause their employees are retards. they repeat everything that you say, but dont actually know what it means, so in the end your sitting there wondering why they said the word 'assorted' when they didnt know what it meant.

It seems like I'm not the only one who spent a large amount of gas for nothing :D

Z3r03rr0r: You know what I forgot to mention that one of the mcdonald's that I went to they actualy gave my friend a pathetic excuse like the "we dont have enough staff".... My friend got a "Our computers are down so we cant serve you food".

So I went home at 2:45... looked around the kitchen and there was nothing but bread to eat.... I settled for that :p

They don't have enough staff though and it's not worth it for them to keep it open with people on OT. Because they'd have to pay 1.5X they would end up losing money in the end, so why stay open?

Go to a bar.

Original Joe's is open till midnight or so on weekdays
2-3AM on Fri-Sun

chewy
namao Mc'ds is famous for it's horrible service..whether it be waiting 10 minutes for 3 cheeseburger meals or getting your food then finding out you're missing large fries..etc etc

You're right.. I guess I'm not blaming them for not being open... but rather dissapointed that you claim 24hour service from a big franchise and you arent even open at 1am. But oh well ;)

tho_chi
places like rotten ronnys will never lose a large enough sum of money to affect the franchise in any way.. Paying a few employees OT means nothing to them:blink:

In a Franchise the corporate office takes royalties. (a percentage of what the store makes) I think McD's is around 4% of monthly sales + rent thats also based on monthly sales. Sometimes by the time you pay rent fees, royalties, staff, utilities and the cost of food the franchisee doesn't come out much ahead. The whole 24 hour thing is more of a tool to make corporate more money. At my job there are times when corporate makes more selling products than the franchisees. Ive seen early openings, free product giveaways ect where we lose money and corporate makes money. As long as its written in a franchise agreement corparate can force stores and resteraunts to open early/late and have the owners take the losses as long as they want.

I was thinking more along the lines of Harold & Kumar.

If you are willing to sit down for it, the 24 hour truck stops like the one on 170st by the Yellowhead will top up your fat & grease levels.

Turb0.ed.v6
Harold and kumar eh? too bad my friend aint brown but I got the asian guy covered :p
