I'm not pleased. I bought the game off of Steam, and can't even get the game to load. I did some research, and there are a lot of people who are having problems. Won't load, choppy audio, blocky graphics.

I'm hoping that there is a hotfix soon, because I am pissed that I can't play this.

I downloaded the demo and my god I think it's one of the best games out in the market to be honest. Insane graphics, first person view, different guns, and also different power ups.

Did the company release any details as to what they know and will help remove the problem? It's a pretty fun game although I could imagine how mad you would get when the game is not performing as it should be.

Xtra_X
I also downloaded the demo. I liked it.

Sorry to hear about the shitty disc, let us know how it turns out.

im not sure about the steam release but the DVD release is fine, im playing it right now on a Pentium D 930, 2gb of ram and bfg 7900GS it plays so smooth, such a good game. i just wish i got the limited edition version

Stainless
I can get it to run occasionally. Apparently there are some issues with activation (not my problem), and also issues with the game not loading (my problem). The developers board is full of people complaining.

I bought the game off of Steam, but the problems are affecting the DVD release as well.

I've got a Dell XPS with a 7800gtx, so I have the computer to run the game. The problem is apparantly stemming from the audio system.

I'm just hoping for a patch soon, so I can play the product that I payed for.

BananaBoy
I picked it up yesterday and got about 2 hours of games play. I thinks it's great but I did get a crash when it tried to load the 3rd area.

STiPWR
I've been downloading it for the past 2 days.... damn 6 gigs at 74kb/s

GQsmooth

donk_316
Will it run on my 1.7 / 1g / ATI9000 laptop? Need a new game to play at work.

I still can't play it. When I do get it to load, the sound is fucked, and after awhile it causes my laptop (a dell XPS m170, specced out, so it should have no problems running this game) to shut down from overheating. I've gone through every 2kgames and steampowered thread I could find, but still no luck. I think I'm just going to get a refund from Steam, and wait until 1.1 or 1.2 come out.
The short part that I can play, I love, and I am really looking forward to getting this game working.

Cyanide Ride
The demo is quite amazing and plays very good.

I'd say the best part is the atmosphere, it's pretty creepy.

I'm holding off buying it until they sort out the activation issues. I think if you go out and buy the DVD version, so far I have not heard any problems with it.

Torrent or from Direct2Drive or something?

If it's torrent.........cancel the download.

When the game installed it copies all the files, then wants to download the latest "patch", which is the executable required to play the game, and asks for an original disk first. If an original disk isn't in the drive, it deletes the install. Now you can copy the installed filed before it fails and deletes, but then you don't have the EXE. Let's say you download an actual, un-virused EXE from the internet somewhere, you'll still need a valid key to activate it. Since there's a limited number of times a key can be activated, you won't have much luck finding one, and there's no keygen out yet.

In short, unless you buy it, you're screwed. It'll be harder to crack than Chaos Theory was, and it took almost a year for the first working cracks to be released.

STiPWR
Yeah, I spent 2 days finding out how to crack the serial and gave up..

I bought the game off steam, and stainless, I'm having no issues at all...

Sucks that yours isnt working.

STiPWR
BTW, this game kicks ass....

especially with the 22" widescreen and Logitech 5500

Hell ya

Over-hyped. Decent game, don't get me wrong, but it's not earth-shattering.

What I wouldn't give for a unique game again. *sigh*

Cyanide Ride
It does lose out in uniqueness, but the focus here was on storytelling and atmosphere.

I like the moral choices that they throw at you every so often, they also impact how the game progresses later on as well.

Cool game, nothing revolutionary, but certainly worth the money because it's not completely mindless.
