Regarding the new RUBORED2 rule - Click HERE for Original Thread

REFLUX
Check it out here:

HERE

I just wanted to tell everyone that RUBORED2 usually follows this rule on it's own. But after talking to the administrators for a span of time, we decided to implement this rule.

This is not an attack on anyone or any current subject.

If you have any thoughts/opinions/concerns, feel free to post them in here under this thread.

WWRBD?
What Will Red Baron Do? :D
Glad to see that the mods are getting the situation under control.
I hate to see good technical threads diluted by chit chat and momma joke's.

Oooh, not a knock out, but a least a standing 8 count :D

redbaron303
Blaine, I try to keep that here for the most part... as tecnical threads are in another part of the forum and are useful.... :)

We can make posts meeting the new rules, just as easy as used to.... although that word association thread should be kept open just for the hell of it, to see how long it really can get.... Gotta have something for Blaine to keep busy with, ya know?!

REFLUX
I wont' lock the word association thread.

But the creation of more word association threads or threads similar to it should not happen anymore.

:D :D :D

is someone complaining about bandwith and whatnot and that's causing the making of rules?

Matt: in a word, no.

may I ask what is the cause of these rules being put in place on the ru bored 2 thread, from my understanding this section was a place to post semi-inteligent/inane babble about your boredom or just about anything that did not apply to any of the other topics, of course while still maintaining a level of decencey(sp?) as to not berate and abuse other members.

SlowAzzPorsche911T
RuBored.... that sounds like a place where you'd post.. quite frankly, useless dribble and utter bullshit, so now we're supposed to post this dribble and babble in a somewhat intelligent and decent manner while pertaining to some sort of state of reason.. bah.. impossible i say!

REFLUX
The rule was put in place because the admin & moderators feel that there is an excess of post whoring

at the time when only a few threads existed, things were fine
it was when people began posting: "I am postwhore #1 with 15%" topics that it got out of hand.

I can appreciate a fun & harmless post like the word association one but posts like the above example are just ridiculous.

Matt: the name RUBORED2 was also under review. We knew that the very NAME of the forum brings about a "useless dribble" kind of attitude. But it also conveys a fun & laid back attitude that V8Less likes to have. If we were to change RUBORED2 into "General Discussion & Debate," I'm sure I wouldn't be the only person who would feel that V8Less would lose a great aspect of itself.

I'm not going to be anal & scrutinize every single post in this forum

if someone asks a yes/no answered question and someone replies with a yes or a no, it would be NICE to elaborate on your answer but I won't start bitching & shit at you because you didn't

it is the creation of useless topics that is worst
thread hijacking used to be #1 but that has died down since the implementation of the V8Less Forum Posting Rules.

Thank you for the information on why, I can appreciate trying to put a stop to whoring, but it doesn't mean that we have to stop having fun. I can deal with that and I am sure the majority of the members here will not have too many problems with it

BLK_LBL
It makes sense to me, whats the point in even making a post if its pointless, and irrelevent

Ya.... even I have to agree that those "i'm a postwhore w/ x amount of posts/day" threads are useless... same w/ "so and so is king of whoring threads w/ that many posts"

Let's keep having fun, but I know in the last little bit I've tried to moderate my own posts and either make them more meaningful or just not as useless as my older posts in this forum... it's hard trying to change bad habits :)

Perilous_Enterprises
I'm down with the change.. I agree, the "I'm the No.1 whore today" type of threads we can really do without (im guilty of one.. :( srry.. :( )

I do, however, think the word association thread is fun and am glad it's not gonna be locked.. :)

Thats all I have to say..
