The last couple of days my computer was making some noises sounded like a loud fan or something. This would only happen when I was loading a doc or new page. Yesterday the computer froze and when i started it back up all it would do is show the Toshiba screen but not go much further. It wouldn't let me go any further than that screen. I took it to best buy today and they'll be sending it out. The tech said that I may loose my data if its a hard drive or processor problem. He made me sign a couple of extra spaces where it said data loss... so I'm guessing when it comes back it will be cleaned out. Does anyone know what the problem may be and the probability of me loosing my data?

If your hard drive crapped.. good chance of loosing data.. processor... not so much, cept windows might puke and they'd run a restore to get it working again.

I'm doing a data recovery for somebody right now... been running for over 6 hours.. looks like it has 4 more to go.

Most companies don't warranty data so really they didn't need you to sign, it just gives them extra leverage so you can't yell at them when it comes back with a restore run on it.
