If you haven't yet you should take a look at the NECC forums and come out to some meets. |

| I was always curious, how does the 300ZX drive? Is it in the same league as an RX-7? B) |

| They were built for the same purpose to compeat against each other from new.... don't forget pwr/wieght difference... :( oh well. Z's are still amazing!!!! (no bias) |

| ahh, the rx7 is considered a much better drivers car in the handling department, but not in realiability! :( |

LOL so, 300ZX = better looking vs RX-7 Better performance?
I was also wondering about those T-Bar roofs in the Z's, what are they like? Any diff from a moon roof? |

They're glass, and you can manually remove them just like in the ol camaro's/firebirds... Burt renolds style.... :)
They're awesome to have, better than convert, b/c of added support IMO, and still let the air flow into the car! :) |

rx-7= better loking, better performance, not as good reliability
300zx= beter reliability |

well compared to the Rx7T the 300zxtt is kinda reliable... but overall.. yea right.. its pretty bad :) and like baron said before.. parts are a MINT.. if you can find them :)
One thing the 300zxtt has over the rx7... you can fit more than 2 people in it :D
Is this the one I see down at hawrelak with the white supra parked beside it all the time?

The Z32 drives very nice. There aren't many cars that can compare. The 300ZXTT and the FD Rx-7 were in the same class, performance wise and price-range. However, the RX-7 is lighter and more nimble. The RX-7 would be the preferred choice to toss around a road course or auto-x, the 300ZX would be way more comfortable on highway cruises... and that's kind of the difference between them.. The 300ZXTT is more of a "GT" car, while the RX-7 is more of a pure sports car.
The RX-7 has an advantage in its lighter weight (~2900 vs. 3500 lbs).
I wouldn't trade my Z for 7 ever.
BTW, welcome Z32TT. In addition to the newly formed NECC, please check out the Edmonton Z Car Club. We have at least 25 Z32 owners in the club already, and over 70 overall across all generations. We have our annual Z Car show n' shine this Saturday at Bonnie Doon, so come by and participate or check it out. There is more info pinned in the v8less EVENTS forum. |

What are you smoking? Are you saying the reliability of the Z32 is bad?? And you've owned one? I've had mine over 5 years now, and I'm pushing 350 rwhp (with dyno sheets to prove it), and based on my experiences, and exposure to the Z scene all over North America, I can with confidence state BULLSHIT to any claim that the Z32 is not reliable. |

well when something goes wrong with a Z, it doesnt rain it pours.
small engine space is a slight problem, but the thread hijack has gone enough... start a new rx7 vs 300zx topic maybe? |

z reliability issues - 100000km
fd reliability issues - 40000km
All approximate... and alot of this is related to proper maintanence, etc... I'd take either and I'd hope the people buying those cars, from new or now and used, would not expect them to be the cheapest most reliable vehicles on the road especially when you start modding them! Buy a honda and keep it stock if that's waht you want. :) Sports cars were built for a reason... for sport :)

Back on topic... so what do you ahve planned for your new toy??? |

| I got my car for 13 800 and like it is way cheaper than an RX-7 turbo and i love my 300. She handles so well. The four wheel steering kicks soooo much ass. Even though it is only 2 degrees of movement it makes and enourmous difference. If you ever had your wheel alighnment out that much you can vouch for what i am saying. She will also handle sooo much better once i get to do some suspension work done on her. |

Yikes! A Z32TT for $13,800. Thats scary. What was wrong with that car when you bought it?
"Decent" 1990 TTZ's can easily ask $20,000 still, even with moderate mileage. And later years more. |

| It has 212 000 km on it but runs strong. It had new turbos put in and lots of other work before i bough it. The only work i had to get done was an inner tierod end and i have to get new tires which i was gonna get any way. Other than that it is perfect. |

Ahhh... that kind of explains it then.
Well, as long as you're happy with the car you got. |
