Hey guys,
Believe it or not, I think I have finished running out of stuff to break in my car. :lol: I am heading to race at Castrol Raceway on Friday night. I want to finally see what my car puts down on the track.
Who is going out to race?

You can show up later.
All it means is the earlier you get there, the more runs you'll likely get. |

depends on the night and how busy it gets.
some nights like last friday I did 4 other have been 12+ |

| ive been at scc once, never seen the drag strip before or after taht, and im interested in seeing my car out there, so how much is it and which days can i just come and pay and race? and its just against random person waiting besides you? any rules come with it? |

Hi seevik,
I am not too sure. I have never been out to Castrol to race before. I would imagine you line up against random dudes or dudetts. I do not know how many races one can get in. I plan to leave my house around 4:30 ish pm and head on out. Maybe I should put AMA on Speed dial. :lol:
The rules are listed on the castrol raceway site. http://www.castrolraceway.com/ You will also need a helmet.
I want a shot at racing against Blockers Tib. I think I have a good shot at winning......maybe :D

the sooner your there the sooner you'll get in line to go through tech. Last time I diddn't think they opened the track till 7:00 which was kinda gay cause everybody just stood around. that was a couple years ago, maybe its different?

No it's not much different, people usually don't start running until 7ish. Tech is open at 5:30 ish.
The only plus to running out is getting through tech first/fast and getting in line for the first of the runs. |

I was there last Friday & it was very very busy. Over 200 cars, so I would get there around 5pm.
I not there this Friday but I hope to make it out to the one on Sept 7. My friend is bring his Viper down :D I hope to take out the Viper:blue: |

I am still going to show up regardless if the Tib shows or not. I have not raced at the track yet.
Remember my track record. My car always breaks or something goes wrong before I actually get to the event. :D I think I can not break anymore parts........That is what I though last time too. :lol:

What was your best time and worst time?
Mine:
Best time
1/4 mile 14.730 @ 95.88 mph. .80 Bar 40% Duty Cycle
Worst time:
1/4 mile 17.880 @ 73.23 mph .90 Bar 43% Duty Cycle.
It seems the higher I boosted the worse my times were and it felt like I was hitting dead spots or could not get traction on some runs.
In between there I had a few runs where I missed shifts and grinded the gears. I went from good to bad to worse. Dialed down the boost to .80 Bar on the last run, did not react quick enough and hit a 14.995.
I now know I need to tune my car. That will come next year after the new head has been installed! :thumbup:

| 14.05 @ 98ish mph. Slip is in the car, and its pooring like a mother f'er. Got 3 runs in all night. Saw the new z06 go into the wall. And was 2 cars back when the midtown crx broke his tranny (i think thats what they where mopping up). So much for breaking into the 13's this weekend. Maby next when my new fpr gets here. |

worst was nevermind, but a 2.144 60'
got 5 runs in and pulled outa the line when the vette rubbed some paint off.
all at 9psi:thumbup:
and I did a couple John Force burnouts, which was better than running down the track - ya for a locker:D

Worst I got as 5.21 (ish) on my first run.
Best was 14.52 and I got a 0.002 reaction time once. Couldn't get any better, I need to practice my launches apparently. |
