I need help... You see I got a letter in the mail today from the Edmonton Police Service. Along with it came a Violation Ticket because I was doing 28km over the speed limit. First ticket I've ever had... No idea what to do or how this will affect my insurance. It explains what to do on the ticket thing but I don't really wanna fuck that up... and can anyone tell me the consecuences of this ticket on my insurance?
Also the ticket is $166 and has to be paid by Oct. 30.
I'd appreciate any advice or insight on what to do... please help, thanks. |

I was leaning towards paying it. I'm not really gonna try and plead not guilty since there's no way in hell I'm gonna proove that. Most importantly I just wanna know if my insurnace rates are gonna go up at all.. if so by how much.

Well I'm guessing the photo radar tickets have a picture of your car with the license plate right? Thats what I got.

Yes, it's just photo radar. It will not affect your insurance. Just pay it and ease up on the right pedal when you're on the streets.

you can also go see the first appearance guy, he almost always gives you a partial break and reduces the ticket. had luck with my only photoradar ticket and got it almost cut in half basically for showing up. I didn't really have much to say, or any argument for my innocence, but I was 16 and trying to pinch pennies so this helped. waiting for an hour to save 60, its like working 7 hours at a part time job
