Really hate that my first post has to do with what I am about to describe, but I need advice and this is the place.
Driving home today on 82nd street going northbound toward 118 avenue a dark Ford Explorer cuts me off. I honk, he flips me off, I return the favor and I am thinking thats the end of that. Stuff like that happens, what can you do. But I was wrong...
Stopped at a red light on 118 av, he is in front and I am behind him. I notice he is staring at me in his mirror. Green light and after crossing the intersection I go into right lane as someone was turning left from the left lane and it was clogged.
As soon as i did that he cuts in front of me again. At this point I see that I am dealing with an a$$hole. I change back into the left lane and he does the same. He then starts zig-zagging left lane - right lane in front of me. I brake, try changing lanes (currently in right lane, both of us), but traffic is quite heavy at this point and I can't.
He has slowed down almost to a stop and turns into one of the avenues and is waving me in.
I want no part of this and just proceed. After crossing Yellowhead he catches up to me and is trying to get me to pull over. I am continuing driving and he starts yelling and says "I got your plate #".
When he said that, I remembered some of the stories I read, even a few here, about people lying and filing fake police reports.
I decided to report him and so I did. Told the officer what happened, and what happened at the end and that my filing this report is a preventative measure rather than me wanting to get the guy in trouble.
Did I do the right thing?
Thanks. |

Alot of times a road rage incident is often a he said / he said sort of thing, It is often hard to prove who is right based soley on a verbal recount.
However, your version of events is now recorded and if anything comes of it at least you made the effort to report your version.
You did the right thing...

Absolutely, and thats what got me to go and report this. Had he just decided to drive off without following me and saying "I got your plate #", I would have let it go.
But knowing what kind of jerks are out there I wasn't prepared to risk anything. |

You gave a guy the finger..... If you don't have the nuts to step up to him, maybe you shouldn't have antagonized him.
I don't think you did the right thing.... I think you should of just let it go if you had no intentions of pursuing your actions.
Yes I'm the guy who will get out of my car at a light and walk up to your window. Stand behind your gestures, or dont flip people the bird. |

| What's with you, STiPWR. I always read your posts and it seems like you're so pissed of at the world all the time or your posts come off as "I'm the tough guy" so fear me..:dunno: I don't know you so maybe it's a wrong interpretation of you. All the people you hang with at the car meets I do hang out with as well, and they all say you're a really nice guy? |
