Hello Everyone,
I am looking at putting together a cruise / BBQ event for spring or early summer of next year.
I am looking at having a cruise leave from Edmonton, then maybe hit Sylvan lake or hit the mountains for a nice BBQ. Destination unknown as of this point.
This would be just a general get together and something a little different that the usual UC meet. I would be looking at having this on a Saturday.
Due to the nature of it, it would need to be some sort of potluck.
Your S/O would also be invited to come along for the fun.
Would this be something you would be interested in?

Not at all.
This is a feeler. If there is good interest then I will pursue it.
Plus this will provide ample time for people to make arraingments to get the time off work, or to keep it in mind once spring hits. :D

Maybe even a booking in a area with group camping? Though a group would need the freedom to make some noise which might be hard to get a booking.

what ever is a go will be fun if you can drive there

Good idea.
I will look into that.
For the cruise I am thinking of taking a few back roads that are paved. Ie) If we hit the mountains, perhaps head through Jasper down to Banff. Or take the secondary highways down to Banff from Edmonton or something. |

| now THAT would be something i would be interested in, spring/summer is a great thought in it self with all the hot weather and girls in bikini's but i do have to agree that 9 months is a bit much. but hell ya for end of summer/fall ;) |

Looks like United Cycle will be a good place to meet to head out from.
From there we can take Calgary trail to Anthony Henday, down to 16X and head on out. I think Anthony Henday will be nicer trip to take than the White Mud, especially with all the construction on it.
Lets say we depart around 8:00 am for a nice cruise out to Jasper for lunch/BBQ then cruise down south to through rocky mountain house, through red deer and back to Edmonton.
Anyone know of any campsites, or a good spot to park for a BBQ in Jasper?
It has been ages since I was last in Jasper.

Yeah this would be fun, and a Sunday would be much better imo. I barely got to drive my car this summer so this would be a blast to cruise with you guys. We should do this soon, and depending on it's success, then you have a platform for next summer regardless. And Prudz, you can always come with me lol, my girlfriend doesn't talk much on long cruises! :thumbup: |

You guys should still go. I am not sure of the details of the cruise/BBQ asides from I was planning to leave at 8:00 am from the UC parking lot.
If someone wants to pick it up then perfect, if not, then let it be what it will be. A nice gathering then a cruise out to Jasper.
