Well today I decide to clean the car up a bit, so i ran it through the shell car wash and then decide to stop at home and grab some cash for cleaning supplies for the car. As I come back to my car I noticed a pretty big puddle of coolant on the ground, so I took a look under the Z and saw the coolant just dripping out of the bottom of the car. The leak seems to be by the oil filter...what could have went on that side?
As a side note...my car now has a lot of white smoke coming out of the passenger side muffler when at idle only and goes away when driving, and come back at idle again.:dunno:
Oh, and the leak is now gone? I drove around for a bit and the car isn't over heating and there is still enough coolant in the car

| well the white smoke is caused by a coolant leak. which I think you know you have. best thing to do is try and trace that leak, I haven't dealt with one yet so I don't know what to do from there. at least you know they are related. good luck |

| Leak by oil filter, eh? I am pretty sure that you have a coolant leak on the hoses going to the passenger side turbo. Wasn't this the turbo that you recently had replaced? |

I know some cars have oil coolers that are just larger bases by the filter that coolant runs through, more likely is a turbo coolant line.
Just the other day I had a leak on mine but it was from the shitty oem clamp ( was only leaking during boost).
9rawl under there and check whatever fitting and or line for your turbo. |

I was going to say the turbo as well. The reason I say this is because of the white smoke coming out your exhaust at idle. That means an internal leak verses a coolant leak onto the exhaust or engine. Either way sounds like someone has some work a head of themselves.

2nd on the turbo coolant line leak. Happened to me last year, pissed coolant everywhere. Check the water lines on the pass side under the back of the plenum near the battery. The smoking and coolant leak may be unrelated.

Ya i got the car up on the hoist today, it's the coolant line to the turbo. As for the smoke I think the reworked turbo I had installed is leaking as well...or my engine is finally crapping out on me slowly....:blink: Fuckin 14+ year old car..........:mad: |

Thought about it, but passed. If I was going S2k it would be Turbo. but I passed and decided to stick it out with my Z and some time down the road it will be rebuilt and good as new. | yeah dont under estimate the s2k its an amazing machine may not have the power like a 300zx tt but it packs a good punch for a 4 cylinder na 120 hp per litre i may consider one if i sell my tt cause its good on gas hahaha |
