Has anyone ever had it done? Did you feel better afterwords or did you feel very vain? was it worth it?
I've been contemplating getting a nose job since i was about 15, i'm now almost 25 and still thinking about it. Its not that i'm unhappy with my appearance, i just hate the jokes or looking at photo's as my nose is all "I" can see. I feel very self conscious about my picture being taken and now feel very left out when looking back through photo's my friends have taken and i'm never in them. Its like i never existed with them because of my own self image.
i know i'm not the only one who feels this way, as everyone sees their own flaws and dwells on them. I'm just wondering if those feelings went away? did it fix your own self-image? |

| cosmetic surgery will help with the physical "flaw" that you have, but you may also want to consider some sort of councelling to deal with the perceptions you have of yourself, and to see if surgery is truely right for you. If you feel it is something you really want to do, read on the risks, etc of it, and go for it. Just make sure you do it for the right reasons. |

I had penis reduction surgery. The head kept having a strange reaction when it got near shoe polish.
hehe, seriously though I've thought about getting laser hair removal under my chin. I get terrible ingrown hairs after shaving and it makes dozens of terrible looking red bumps. Plus I actually cut these bumps pretty often as I'm shaving as well. |

i would consider laser hair removal on some unwanted neck hair. i have 2 very small patches on my neck below my hair line that i shave all the time. im pretty tired of it. like 1 square inch on each side. used to be peach fuzz and the hair dresser one day when i was 10 said... hmm we will just shave that and every month it got thicker and thicker and thicker and now its noticable and pisses me off.
Self consionousness will not go away right after your nose is fixed. You'll still have it because everyone has flaws. You have to deal with it on your own, come to terms, and live life from there. |

honestly i say go for it then. if i makes you happy and your going to actually want to be in photos then do it
i stayed out of photos for a long time but it had nothing to do with my looks. i just didn't feel like it ever. There are still a bunch but i still look like i am cut out of 2 years of life, so i know what you mean by looking back and wondering where the hell you were. looks like you weren't even alive. |

I would forget the surgery and work on your confidence.
If you are a confident person, people will see that and overlook small or non existent issues that you think are huge.
If you go with the surgery and are not confident in your self, you will not be happy and find something else to rag on you about. It is a downward spiral. You are the only person that can make you happy. If you are not truly happy with your self from with in, you will never be happy and at peace.

i've recently read in a magazine a famous woman did plactic surgery on her face to be very young. I think our age is increasing and it's a great truth. So, we can't do anything to be young. It's just impossible.
