The fact that the "Fastest STi In the World" only runs 9.5 says something.

That its an actual STi? not just a STi shell on a completely different platform?

husyrs
well its fast

PimpSlap
There are EVO's in the 8's that aren't shells and use all factory motor, trans, and drivetrain.

and gtr's are in the 7's

your point?

STiPWR
hence me not responding to his post.....

The point is that STI and EVO are direct competitors with each other. Just showing that the STI still has along way to go to reach the same level of performance. A GTR is not in the same class as these two cars, and a 7 second GTR is a gutted race car with different tranny, etc..

LAWL! are you retarded? They are 2 cars who are in direct competition with eachother... usually only seconds apart on road and track courses.

By no means does an Sti "have a long way to go"...

midnite
sweet!

ok so a hunk of 17 year old technology is still doing it in 7.59

tranny - you think the evo and sti have a stock tranny? keep dreaming, at a minimum they would have dog gears.

a 8 second evo is a gutted race car with a different tranny
a 9 second sti is a gutted race car with a different tranny

my point is done.

You guys are funny! AMS Evo ran into the 8's on shep tranny, just upgraded components from other year cars. No Dogbox etc, and the car wasn't stripped. I guess if it makes you feel better then keep dreaming.:drama: And I hope your not saying that you can compare a 8 second car to a 9 second car? It isn't the same as the difference between a 15 and 16 second car.

Before you start crying, a second or two in high forms of racing is an eternity. And I was only reffering to 1/4 mile which this thread was about no where have I stated anything about road course. But since you mentioned it AMS evo has also been cleaning up in time attacks around the US as of late to.:asshole:

STiPWR
First off, what does 1/4 mile times prove in rally cars?

So your comparting the AMS evo to stock sti's?

AMS complete turbo kits alone have GT42r's twin 38mm wastegates, 4inch exhaust, 3inch IC piping, FMIC, Koyo Rad, Ceramic coated components etc etc etc...

Let alone what AMS's flag car has installed.....

Add those upgrades to a EJ25 and you'll have the same results.

Try Cosworths Sti, or APS's STi if your looking for comparisons.

Arguing over the 2 is pointless.. and its been an ongoing debate since the evo8 was released.

PimpSlap
Are you stupid? I'm comparing there Evo to the Sti in your video. I'm not arguing or trying to be a dick just pointing out that there competition is running alot faster in the 1/4. Remember this thread is about 1/4 record not road racing.

PimpSlap
I know alot about the STI/WRX and accomplisments of Easy Street and others. I also know must fast STI/WRX's have had to go auto to get the job done.

still not a stock box....

We take your trans and apply all applicable tsb's and updates as well as modify the oiling system and a few other tricks to make it shift. This trans build is used by the quickest and fastest Evo's around including both the AMS drag car and time attack car, AL (dynoflash), Buschur Racing, Curt Brown, Pruven Performance,Dan Bajalis , Proco Evo and many more.

ImporTuner
dam that was exciting...
