So i start a new job today, working construction at south gate.
It was effing sweet nice people easy work good pay.
But i have tendinitis so when i was pulling some nails out of 2x4's it started to act up, just a bit kinda stiff, nothing really wrong. Went away after 15 minutes or so. It didnt stop or hamper my work what so ever.
Then the site Super intendant comes up to me and asks how im doing. I tell her about my arm and how its nothing to worry about. The guy who hired me knows about it and just said work within your limits and i was.
She told me to talk to my foreman. I was like w/e at lunch ill do it.
But she went and talked to him instead, the discussed it and agreed i was a liability to work for them and told me to go back to the office i was hired at because i cant work there anymore.:mad:
So i went back and i talked to the guy who hired me and pretty much anywhere i would be working for them id have to use the hammer to pull nails ect. The problem is if the next foreman found out the paranoia would take hold and id be sent back again. So he laid me off due to medical reasons and now im minus an $18 an hour job.
Not really a rant cause im not an angry person but fuck my tendons...fuck em good:(
Oh and i got tendinitis back when i used to bmx and i fell 8 feet to flat on my palms..shoulda broke both arms...but i just got a bruise for 8 months and fucked tendons. :mad: |

if you havnt worked there for 3 months then you are pretty much out of luck. but if they just layed you off after 3 months, you need some sort of severance pay.

Thats why you never report a injury at work, unless it is something major.
It will always be on your file, and they can always hold it against you.

I can relate to you man. I have pinched nerves in BOTH of my hands and it has caused me to loose time from work in the past (working on a oil rig isn't exactly the best job when you have this kind of problem! lol)
Anyways, It was so bad that the specialist said I need Surgery on both hands to relieve the pressure and pain.
Long story short, I couldn't afford to take the 6-8 weeks off work for the surgery and couldn't return to work because they already knew I need the surgery.
So I had to switch rig companies. I now work in severe pain daily...its not good for me at all, but I need to work until I can get some benefits at least.
It sucks...

lol, I had to stop welding cause I got tendonitis in my hand...my fingers would lock closed and I couldn't stop running wire lol.
Reported it and now I am starting my plumbing apprenticeship lol......found a new job cause welding is out. |

| I can relate as well, I have a ganglion in my one wrist which presses on my nerves and causes numbness and pain once in a while :( |

yeah...it sucked...i worked for 4 hours:lol: i have a pinched nerve in my left hand i cant feel my middle finger. and the wrist also cracks when i move it.
i was in the pipefitters union as a permit. went up north my friend who knows people said he could get me a place to stay for a while he slacked off so i couldnt stay.
but my friend is a courtesy driver for a dealer ship and he gets 17 an hour to drive around all day. i just have to find something.
Yeah when the tendinitis makes your hand lock up its never fun sometimes happens when im driving people dont understand how much it hurts. |

I agree with stealth,
Sometimes it is better to grin and bear it and pop some advil or muscle relaxant than to let them know you are feeling some pain.
You could have just told them your wrist is tender from excessive masturbation and that is should go away in a few days :rofl:
I would only report something major.

lol well thats the thing i didnt know who she was when she came up and said hi i though it was just like a manager or something not knowing it was the super intendant. and then bam your off the site because your a liability |
