I'm putting Lexanis on my Turbo S - Click HERE for Original Thread

These showed up on my doorstep today! They're actually Kinesis wheels who were recently bought by Lexani. These are the K27 that were produced before Kinesis got gobbled up. I'll try to refinish them a bit, but these are track wheels so looks aren't critical. If anyone has advice on polishing the lip, I'm all ears.

I'm no expert, but when we had a 944 w/ 911 Fuch's. I used mother's alum./mag. polish... Your's don't look bad either, I just probably wouldn't do all four without a power polisher. Or if that's not an option, I am still trying to convince my brother (w/ 22 in. Srt-10 wheels, and dirty dirty brakes) that he should at least go get one of those attachment's for a power drill. Magic Ball I believe.

Are those the same wheels Dan's running?

That rubber looks serious. Will we see these in action on the 13th?

Dan has a different brand of wheels that look very similar. Both 3 piece with same size and brand of tire. I'll have them out on the 13th if the other 2 wheels arrive tomorrow as scheduled. We're talking z-club, or was there an autocross that was added that I don't know about?

Thanks for the advice about the products, I'm going to see what I have in my collection of car chemicals and if I can't find anything I'll go out shopping.

I'm refering to the Z-car club event at Stratotech. See you there.

I used the turtle wax wheel polish and worked my fingers to the bone. Still not show standards by a long shot, but certainly better than how they arrived. The rear 275s are actually noticeably lighter than my street 255s on 996 wheels. Anyway, here's how it turned out:

Looks good, but the 996 wheels are much better looking.

Unfortunately this was a really great deal that didn't materialize until September.

Yeah, the black/polished lip doesn't really go well with the rest of the car and I also prefer the looks of the 996 wheels.

to get a nice finnish again what friends have done with excenet results was sand the finnish off with a 220-320 grit paper, down to a steel wool, then used an abrasive cleaner (cant recall the name, then had them re-cleared

Damn you late offset guys get all the deals........ Very nice..... It would look much better on my car...... ;D Those 275s look good on that wider rim. Mine are a little more of the bubble look.... hehehe

During the winter we could powder coat the inside if you want... You would have to help me get the oven from storage :D

Did it rub at all? I had wheel rub when i took my rubber out the first time on wednesday...I am going out tonight again to see if my sledge hammer trick worked........

If not .......the grinder comes out.

I didn't get them on until late last night so still no test drive. I don't anticipate any rub as the offset is nearly spot on and my fenders are already rolled. Everything looked good statically, but maybe I'll hear something when I get the suspension loaded up. The fronts are almost identical in size to my 255 azenis, so no clearance problems there either.

I'll have to do a little research into disassembling a 3 piece wheel. I guess it can be a bit tricky to do it right. If I can get them apart, I may bead blast and repaint or powder coat. I think I'd like to change the color.
