Just moved in Alberta - Click HERE for Original Thread

Marius
Hi guys:) I just moved here in Alberta from BC and I'd like to get an Out of Province Inspection for my car. My dilemma is I put alot of aftermarket performance parts in it including turbo. Any shops you guys know of that won't give me too much grief? please help!

Id recommend the tire warehouse. As long as everything is good working condition aftermarket parts shouldn't cause a huge issue.

Marius
Thanks man:) , any particular location? like westend, southside, ..etc...

there is a place on the southside called Inspectors 99th and 65ave area. My friend got his OOP done there they seemed pretty good as well they have a deal with one of the parts stores so that if you do need to replace anything you get the parts at cost.

St. Albert tune up, never gave me any grief when i got my GSX done.

EDISKRAD EHT
Tire Warehouse South.

Very good group of people.

Marius
Do they care if my car is modded? I just had my turbo installed and tuned, everything else is in perfect working condition and no CEL.

EDISKRAD EHT
Nope. They are good with that.

They aren't "Rapists" like alot of other places, with modified vehicles.

I called them today to book an appoinment for Saturday 20th, drop it off at 8:00am and should be ready at 3:00pm, they need it all day because they are pretty busy according to the guy. They want to do the alignment as well and I told the guy I had it doned at the dealership (Southview Acura) two weeks ago, and he said they still have to do it

They still have to do an alignment. Its the rules for getting an out of province. You can also go to Delta Automotive. They did mine. It was $129 including 4 wheel alignment.

OOOPPPS! sorry i missed the first sentence, I will try to phone Delta maybe they can do it a little quicker cuz I live in Fort McMurray and I need to go home same day.

Delta fucked me in the ass on my alignment pricewise, and my car pulls slightly to the left still.

They have done all of my lowered cars and my brothers. They are one of the best in town. If it indeed pulls to one side then take it back. But if its been months since you did the alignment then you are fucked because you can't prove that they messed up. Besides they test drive the car before they give it to you and won't release it unless its perfect. So in a way I don't really believe you.

This post has nothing to help the topic, but: I really don't think I had an alignment done when my Miata came over. The inspection sheet had no mention of it. :dunno:

Xtra_X
It's part of their inspection. No biggie it just comes with it.

Does anyone have a detailed list of what they check. I had to remove my windshield washer fluid tank to make room for charge pipes, and i have a small dent in the pass side fender, are they really picky about this kind of thing?

And how much is it at the tire wharehouse for an OPI? And does that price include alignement ?

actually you are right to not believe me, I fucked up and take it back. It was just some poorly monitored tire pressure on my part, however the price thing is true. I don't want to post up how much I paid because it is fucking astronomical. Therfore in conclusion. Good work, but the amount they charged me simply because they had to raise my coils up an inch(without explaining to me how much it was going to cost)made me want to cry.

Hmm.. When they do this Inspection is not the same as an inspection when a vehicle is over 10 years old? the Simple things.. as well An alignment? Do they even Drive the car? I see fit to not beleave this on the fact that if u came From B>C! ur Probally outa insurance hence forth how can they Drive it... and Finally. Does this tire warehouse do Apprasels as well? thx

Marius
I cancelled my appointment with Tire Warehouse on Saturday Oct. 20th and went with Nordel Husky down in 82st. and 127ave. two great asian owners for $85 + G.S.T. and they finish it in 1hr. no alignment needed, compared to Tire Warehouse for 7hrs. & alignment. there's McDonald and Tim Hortons in the area if you don't want to wait in the shop, I highly recommend these guys for OOP  Thanks for the help guys.
