ok, so on the '06 Yaris RS that i have came with 15" wheels and Bridgestone Potenza RE92's all 'round.
i have about 43,000 Km on the car now and the tires are completly worn to, if not past the wear bars.
last time i checked, tires on a daily driven, not autoX'ed car should last a little longer then just under 2 years.
any ideas with what i should do? |

Depends on the tires. Some have a short treadwear life, and some have a long one.
As to what you should do, buy new tires. |

doesnt sound too bad to me, i cant say for how you were driving but i usually get two years life out of two sets of tires- summers, and winters (this was on a mk3 golf, so yes underpowered and not fast) i also plan on chewing through a set of tires every summer on my new car.
15's wont be that much when you consider most cars are running at least 17's, try out the new falken 912, it replaced the 512 this year and tire warehouse has great prices . on my golf i had the 512's and they were great (and cheap) and i just slapped some 912's on my 350z to get around until i pop some 19's on it. |

What exactly would you claim? That their tires suck? They probably already know that, but don't care because they have a nice fat contract with Toyota. Stupid questions receive stupid answers. |

you still have a little poo at the corner of your mouth, here is some toilet paper to whipe it clean when you done talking shit. if you can't think of anything to say that has merit behint it then its time to clam up...
if you go and buy tires at goodyear, and they wear out faster then you think they should you can take them back and they will do somthing for you, as they have done with me in the past. |

If you fought hard enough best you'll get is a prorated deal on replacements... so if the tires are treadwear rated for 60,000km, you might get a few $$ off a new set of said shitty tires.
My wife's car, Neon R/T, came with Goodyear RSA's I think V rated tire... no treadwear rating at all, I asked... they said you could get 50,000km out of them, or you could get 2,000km out of them... hers lasted bout 35,000km, and at the time would have been over $360/ea to replace.
I used falken 512's.. lasted 2 months.... prolly like 10,000km.. and absolutly horrible in bad weather... ok rain they were good, but a hint of snow.... my wife was either going nowhere or everywhere... |

Real mature. It's attitude like this which is a con to our society. What makes you think they owe you a damn thing? If you have a problem, take it up with capitalism.
You didn't go and buy your tires from Goodyear. You bought a car, which had el cheapo dealership tires on it. Now that you've used them up go get a nice set of hard compound touring tires, get your 5+ years out of them, and stop wasting everyone's time. |

My P60's on my ST lasted a whopping 30,000kms , I guess I was hoping to get at least 2 years out of them. But at least I was able to convice my wife to let me buy my new tires.
Btw

It is. BBoybean, your wife must want a divorce if you had to convince her that replacing worn tires is a good idea. Especially since they are a major factor in keeping you alive while traveling from day to day. |

I've only read the first post... but to hear someone MAD that tires don't last 2 years makes me laugh so hard inside...
I replaced my tires each month, since I've bought my car. My last car that DIDN'T have the power, went through tires just as fast... I always bought used for that car though (Cant' find used 20" rubber for my current) and that just meant, "Driven for 3 months to work and back, and traded for snow tires"
Eugh.
2 years = Great. Go spend $100 per 15" tire and be happy. |

If you use 512s in the snow, you have a deathwish(yes I know they are called all seasons, but damn, look at the tread pattern!)
I find them pretty good in dry and wet, but I agree the treadwear is AWFUL. I have about 8k on mine and the fronts are down to about 30% Guess what I'm gonna do when they die though..........wait for it
Buy new tires.
I had some federal 595 down to the steel belts on my e30 in about 6k, but I also had like 3.5 degrees of neg. camber:p |

I have a dedicated set of winters for the car that has the 512s.. that year it was fine in morning and we got a lite dusting of snow during the day.. twas the drive home that was fun.. good thing for small town.. bad thing town is all river valley.. so most streets are up and down big hills.
I dunno what the falkens I have now are at.. but we'll see I haven't driven that car.. so they may last longer(I have a bad habit of taking corners at speed in that car) |

| I had 512's on my skyline last summer and they sucked (in summer only, i'd never touch them to the ground in winter) i replaced them with Hankook K104's this year (it was all i could get late in the season) and as shitty as they may be they are definitly a step up from the 512's. 512's FTL! |
