Parting out my 86 - Click HERE for Original Thread

Heeter
Hey all,

I got an 86 hardtop that has a blown head gasket sitting on my driveway.

I am going to move it in a couple of weeks but if anyone needs parts off of it, would be willing to sell off some stuff before I move it.

Let me know here.

Thanks,

Heeter

What kind of shape is the rest of the engine in? I'm planning on rebuilding my blown 20v for turbo, and from what I can tell the GZE crank and connecting rods would be ideal for me. It's a little early, but for the right price I'd be willing to take it off your hands. If you have somewhere to work, I'd even be willing to pull it. Having just done one engine pull last weekend, I'm not looking forward to it, but then again, for the right price...

Heeter
Thanks for responding, Silverfire

it's an 86, it is a GE engine, not a GZE.

I personally wouldn't recommend a GE block for forced induction.

Sorry.

What's the shape of the armrest pad, shift boot like? Is the boot stock? Definitely interested in those parts. Does it have a spoiler-less trunk lid? How about the floor mats, are they stock/OEM as well? What rims are on the car? Definitely interested if they are stock, but are not the "teardrop" style. Still interested if they are teardrop, & have stock rubber on them (185/65 14's). Please let me know, very interested.

Heeter
Hiya HuntSean

I will get back to you on those pieces,

Will go take a look at them in a bit.

It is a spoilered trunk lid, I actually got a few of those spoilers around here

And the wheels are triangles, not teardrops. Teardrops were on 87+ MKIs. I have them still, but I got brand new rubber on them, for the 88SC that I have here, might want to put the new rubber on the 88 teardrops and you can have the triangles, I guess. Will see how feasible that should be.

Are you restoring you 85?

Heeter

I'd love to restore, but sadly I am not financially capable of that as of yet. It would be unreasonable the amount I would need to spend. It is cheaper to pick one up in mint/near mint condition than to restore.

Heeter
I understand,

My friend's 85 was restored to spec by Regency Toyota in Vancouver a few years back. It was done on the extra time, while it was owned by the Parts Manager there.

$14,000 in factory parts alone, no labor charges, was the final outcome in that endeavor. But she is a real beauty.

I posted a pic of our cars in this thread:

http://forums.780tuners.com/showthr...;threadid=61246

Sadly, that was the only time we had our rides out this summer together. We barely put 300Kms a year on our cars as it is.

Will get back to you in a bit.

Sorry about that, I figured with all the SC stuff off to the side, you were looking to part THAT one out. Too bad.

As for the GE, No. I'm not going to. However, I might be able to get away with my 20V crank and low compression pistons.

AND WE NOW RETURN YOU TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED THREAD.

I forgot. What colour is the interior. I could go for a stereo trim piece if it's black.

how much for the tps sensor? ans would it be the same as a gze one?
do you have a rear sun visor?

The stereo trim parts are different for 85-86 than they are for 87-89. I am going to assume it is for your 87.

As for the armrest/boot. Shiftboot is gone, and the armrest is still there but are crack/tears in the elbow part.

The tps sensor is the same on all engines that came with a catconvertor/EGR setup (if I remember correctly, even though toyota used all different part numbers, and different casings, some metal, some plastic.), but they are rotated 90 degrees differently, so it might not plug to the harness correctly on a SC, this engine still has all it's parts intact, other that the blown head gasket, and the rear sun visor is available. Rear sun visors were not an 86 accessory, but a 87+ addon. This particular one came from my other car, but it is on that 86 right now.

Is it a rust-free, accident-free vehicle? Some people might want the car if it is.

how much do you want for the parts ?

Wibber
Interested in the rear sun visor, passenger side mirror, drivers side door panel (depending on colour).

Any new-ish parts on it?
