Anyone had experience with these? Particularly on a N/A? I need a new shaft and I have heard that the N/A ones will still cause vibration.
Anyone confirm or deny? |

| I installed mine this summer. No vib at all (even at higher speeds) and the response is much quicker. Well worth it IMO:thumbup: |

Do you have a turbo, an N/A, 2+2, 2 seater? |

| It's an N/A 2 seater (The drive shaft was a Z1 from COZ) |

And no vibes!?! Good to hear. The ConceptZ salesman put me off by telling me it would vib a lot more than the stock 2 piece. I haven't read any real complaints about it....... but if anyone else has any experiences with them, I would still like to hear about them.
The 2 seater N/A Z1 platinum is the one I was looking at also. |

| Looks like my tension rod bushing is also leaking. Any suggestions to a replacement? I'm not sure an adjustable rod is worth while to me at this point. |

I would recommend replacing them with an Energy Suspension 3 piece Tension Rod Bushing.
After that, I would recommend going adjustables (SPL Parts or Powertrix). |

Z1 driveshaft is a nice piece of work. Really nice welds, but the weights are just tacked on and there were some nicks on the tranny sleeve. Cleaned up the sleeve, and the weights should be fine.
Everything clocked perfectly. Each bolt-up yielded the EXACT same runout. Flanges were a perfect fit.
So far, no vibes but I'm holding my breath since the Tranny Mount install seemed to clear things up 80% before it slowly got worse over a few days.
So I guess Notchiness in the U-joints will cause severe vibs even though there is NO play.:dunno: |

| The Z1 shafts do sometimes vibrate a little at high speed. A new OEM tranny mount will usually help. A NISMO tranny mount is designed a little differently, and seems to help more than an OEM mount in most cases. |

Wish I knew that a month ago. From what I thought I knew, they were just different compounds. OEM is in, there seems to be next to no vibs (compared to before) even at high speeds....... and I have tested high speeds.;) I felt a little something between 110 kph and 120 kph, but that felt more like tires than driveline (could have been leaking tension rod). It was also windy as hell durring the test drive, so time will tell.
When I do my TT swap, I'll move to the Nismo mount. Thanks to everyone for the info. |

They are different compounds, but the way the two pieces are mounted together is different as well. On the OEM mount, the rubber goes straight across. On the NISMO mount, it's on a 45 degree angle, with extra bracing above.
With the OEM mount, you are likely to get vibration at 150Km/h +. |

I'll just say that I am "assuming" that I don't have any noticable vibs up to 190kph. ;)
With the way the shaft clocked, I could just be one of the lucky ones..... or the vibs may just be so slight that I don't notice compared to the way it was. It would be interesting to compare the 1 piece to a 300 with a stock 2 piece when I get all the known issues fixed. |

| If you can see clearly out the back window at that speed, then you should be ok ;) |

You left out a detail. The Nismo tranny mount was actually designed for the 240SX tranny, which happens to be smaller and lighter than the Z32 tranny.
Just something to keep in mind... |

Sure, but is that relevant? There are many parts that are interchangable between the Z31/Z32/Skyline/240/etc.
The NISMO mount is stronger than the stock Z32 mount, and is angled better for the one piece drive shafts which results in less vibration. Doesn't really matter what it was designed for...it works better IMHO! |
