| Matt, how much for a wiper switch if i gave you one to rebuild? |
|
|
| now |
well just did some checking on prices of parts and
to my surprise the price has gone way up!
9.38 x 2 per switch + shipping:(
so a guy is looking at 25 dollars for parts alone now:(
there was a time when they were about 5.50 but i guess
even when the canadian dollar going up in value we get screwed!
time to do the repair, depends some are easy to do and others
are a real bit@h.
if you want your switch done $55.00
if you want to do a quick change and swap
your switch for one that is ready to go $85.00 (this depends on
what type of switch you have the one i have has rear wiper)

I have a switch that only works on one setting, i swapped it out but the switch i have now.. the lowest setting doesn't work but the other ones, the single wipe, medium and fast work fine, the low setting does not, which i can live with.. but to have that fixed do i need to get the whole switch rebuilt? thanks

there is no point to do a part repair best to change both relays and
resolder the whole thing.

Further investigation has revealed that the trouble was in the wiper motor itself. One of the electrical cocntact-wipers in the gear-box was broken.
Can anyone recommend a good source of salvage parts in Alberta? |
