watched this movie at a friends house, (I love mafia related movies so i am very picky about how well it is done and how real everything is portrayed) and i must admit i went into this movie expecting it to be VERY good since Denzel Washington was in it and i was NOT disappointed it was a really well done movie, its been awhile since i've seen such a good mafia type movie this movie definatly is going into my favorites list and i'm definatly buying this

i dont know i give it a 9/10 (The Godfather 1 and 2 are still my favorites)

Pretty decent movie. First scene is the best.

I saw this movie last night. 6:40 at North Edmonton. Completely sold out. not one seat left empty.

By far one of the best drama-type movies I have seen in years, if not ever. Denzel did an amazing job. I would definitely recommend you go out and see it.

For those who don't want to go to the theater this movie is available for download, in DVD quality, if you look. The only downside is it seems a bit darker than you would expect, but I thought it wasn't a big deal for such a kickass movie.

just got back from it
it was alright..

Am I the only one who thought it was just meh? I wanted more gangster and less blah blah blah.

It was alright....definitely nothing close to goodfellas or scareface, or anything of the sort. The previews made it out to be WAY better then it actually was. I would go see it again though, it wasnt bad, but it was great. Ill give it 8/10

Great movie. Dialogue driven movies are always the best. There was a perfect balance of action and speech. My favorite guy was the Special Investigations Unit guy, he seems to be finally picking up good roles in his career; he was the doctor in Grindhouse.

But American Gangster delivered, I give it a 4/4. It was way better than We Own the night thats for sure.

I think it was designed like that to appeal to a larger segment of the population, not just the young guys.

goodfellas is probably the best ending ever. You don't expect any of it. Going to see american ganster this weekend. Hopefully it is as good.

I was bored with american gangster. they should have focused more on frank and less on gay cops

I really enjoyed it, although the last parts of the movie were a bit predictable.

Very true, I think some people are forgetting that.
