| Do you think it'll be worth the money compared to turbo kits, or just something people buy because they can? |

The NC model will have serious packaging issues for a turbo, given that it will require the relocation of the entire braking system, as the ABS splitter block and associated brake lines (6, or maybe 8) reside adjacent to the exhaust manifold...no clearance to hang a turbo without serious mods to other systems.
There is also a centrifugal supercharger being worked on...I saw it in the flesh when I went to Colorado this past August to attend Flyin' Miata's 10th annual Open House.
There are plenty of options coming for the NC...faster than I actually expected, given the usual lag between new model introduction and aftermarket. Given that the NC was such a departure from the previous NA and NB models, for the aftermarket to come out with this level of goods just as the 2008 models arrive (the NC started in late 2005 as a 2006), I'm impressed.
Since selling my turbocharged NA (15psi), I miss boost. A supercharger might be a nice change of pace. :D |
