Yes.
But they have to work for it too. When I was younger and I skateboarded, we used to pay bums to lay on the ground and we would practice tricks over them. Since they were bums and not human beings, it didn't matter if I landed my switch hard flip or not. Plus, the entertainment value of doing skate tricks over a bum in public was worth every quarter I have him.

| I did once, then after I felt no satisfaction at all that I did. PLUS I didnt have enough money to buy a cookie dough blizzard that day so I was pretty chapped. That was the day I stopped throwing my money away. |

I make contributions off my paycheques to the United Way. At least then I know it's going to something other than people abusing their habits.
I've had people ask for change for a coffee outside Tim Hortons downtown, I say that I don't have any, which I usually don't, but buy them a coffee inside. I've done this maybe a half dozen times, but I stopped about a year ago after a woman threw the coffee on the ground when I handed it to her and said she just wanted change, not a coffee. I asked 'why lie then?' She just started swearing and I walked away.
Similar thing happened with someone else asking for money for bus fare. I handed him a bus ticket and he told me to fuck off. I'm not going to enable someone to perpetuate their habits that are so harmful to my city. Frankly, I don't understand why many of these homeless people move here? You don't have anything tying you down, stick out your thumb and go spend the winter in a nice warm climate. At least then you won't be freezing to death or making my city stink like a fucking urinal. There is a phone booth a block from my work downtown that is used as a toilet and fucking reeks beyond words.
But hey, don't worry, Stelmach has a plan to create a plan to eliminate homelessness in the next 10 years. |

I used to, but now that I work downtown, it would cost me $10 a day if not more
Its much easier just to take money off my pay check and donate to the united way. |

| If they ask for food, and are clearly looking not so good, and ACTUALLY want food, I will bring them in a store and buy them a meal, and usually the ones who actually want food are VERY grateful and I feel good after, the ones who say no they just want money can suck my dong |

Fuck giving money to random drug addicts, i barely want to give money to people i know. that and the countless times bums have done retarded shit.
This guy asked for a dollar while i was in high school on lunch break. I told him no, and then he decides to pull out over 300 dollars in 20's and tell me well thanks for your time. WTF is that about. I almost robbed his ass. My friends and I were planning to just beat the guy up and steal the money. After all he got it from lying. |

not normally becasue most will use it on booze or drugs. and If I wanted to put my money on booze or drugs I would buy some for myself instead.
I have a few times, but only to the ones who are actually doing something for it, playing bad music, or whatever, but not to some guy who sits and begs untill he has enoughf for a drink. |

The strangest ones are the homeless people that have complete conversations with you and not ask for a dime. You want to give them something at the end, because you know they're a decent person, but don't want to insult them either.... |

I only hand out food, I'll often have a granola bar or something in my jacket. Old habit from working of job sites, I never know when I'll get a food break.
I give change to buskers (spelling?) if their decent. A long time ago when I was going to NAIT, there used to be a Monk (shaved head, orange toga, bamboo sandals) that would play the flute in the LRT tunnels, I would always give him a 5, The really old Chinese Guy and the bag pipe guy would get a 5 too. |

95% of the time I don't, but when I see a dude really hard up I will. Last winter I remember giving several bums $5 or $10 to get something to eat. It was during the cold snap and most of the missions were full.
As long as they don't eat in the same restuarant as me, I'm happy lol (nothing against them, just the smell they eminate) |
