| How the hell to work a CompuStar - Click HERE for Original Thread |

A guy has left his car at my place, and isn't around to ask questions of. I need to move the car, but when I thought I disarmed the alarm and went to start it, it wouldn't start (And didn't even attempt to turn over). This makes me think maybe I didn't disarm the alarm properly?
I've never used Compustars much, so I have no idea what all these fancy buttons do.
Can someone give me a quick rundown of how to:
1) disarm the alarm
2) engage the car starter (for auto start)
As well, if I need to charge the battery (sitting for only two months) is there anything special I need to do when I reconnect it, or just disengage the alarm when it goes off?

Button one is arm/disarm. Just press once.
Press and hold II to start it if a car starter is installed too.
It's armed in that pic. |

| Disconnecting the alarm probably reset it so you have to re-program the remote to work. Think its turn the key on and off 5 times and hit number 1, but I dont remember for sure. |

almost the same as mine.
is the car standard? if it is u have to manually start your car put it into revense or 1st gear, drive for not even a second. put it back into neutral wait 3 seconds( you should hear a short click) . turn the key to turn off the engine but the engine will stay on, open and lock the door(of if you have keyless, it should auto-lock when you shut the door) if not, shut the door and it should set the alarm automatically aswell as the autostarter. your controller should signal you that the car is set for autostart.
once everything is set. press and hold button 2 to start the car. button 1 to disarm the alarm/open doors(if you have keyless door). rinse and repeat. probably when u tried to start it with the controller, the car wasnt set for autostart yet
my battery was unplugged for 2 weeks and it was fine when i hooked it back up. If the alarm goes off, just point and press button 1 to disarm |

| The buttons are really sensitive, tap to unlock don't hold it down. When my battery goes dead I haven't had to reprogram it so you shouldn't have to worry. Don't hold down button #4 its the panic feature. |

| well guys since we are on the subject.... is there anyway to get around the neutral safety switch (clutch pedal) for the autostart function? i had my n.s.s disconected in spring; autostart worked, then wired it back up to go to the track... now i have no autostarting capabilities and its starting to get cold out... im assuming you guys didnt just push the two connections together as i did for a quick fix. |
