Rust bubble repair - Click HERE for Original Thread

tcpx
Hi there,
around how much would it cost for you guys to fix a small rust bubble spot near the wheel well for a 91 talon? For now I am trying to shop around for prices and the only quote that I got was $300-325 from chipmasters, wondering if you guys could give me a quote as well since I've heard nothing but good things

thanks

Hey, i'd have to see the car to give you an accurate price...
but if your just looking to have it repaired and unpainted. I'm sure I could do it for around $300 to leave it in primer for you.
if your looking at having it painted as well. then you'd have to bring your car for me to see.

tcpx
the quote that I got was actually including the paint matching and they said itll take about a day or two :dunno:
I'll give you guys a call so you can take a look at it sometime next week, what time are you guys open til?

2k3Civic
oh... with paint hey?
well i can tell you now that I can't even come close to matching that.

with minor repair and repaint of a full quarter you'd be looking at the $500 + range.
but stop by anyways to get an estimate.

tcpx
well, it wasnt for a full repaint of the whole quarter, just a touch up at that one portion, wondering if you'd do the same
but yeah ill give you guys a call next week :blue:

Will can explain the process to you in person, however he most likely will have to blend in the repairs with a portion of the quarter panel (which is why he will paint an area larger than the repair).

What this will do is allow a seamless transition from the new paint to the old paint, so everyone who sees your car doesn't say "Hey, what happened, get into an accident?"

If you just paint the area that was chipped and don't blend it into the existing paint it will stick out like a sore thumb.

Stop by the shop and obtain an accurate estimate (as the work will need to be viewed), however make sure you're comparing apples to apples - that the quality of work being provided by your quotes is equal.
