Petplan insurance was the one my dog was on.

Worth it IMO, especially if you have a small/toy or giant breed.
The biggest & smallest tend to have the most health issues.

Our vet recommended it to us and they were easy to deal with and had some pretty good coverage.
Very worth it IMO.

Pet insurance I find is a lot like US health insurance.. Thay can easy denied you the claim.
i have a Bulldog, so trust me there is nothing cheap about those dog. I got 3 mths free when I got the dog. But my breeder said the it is just as good to save up some money, just in case. Pet insurance & Bulldog don't go good together, due to all the troubles they could have.

Can't Stop Spin
I wish I had gotten pet insurance with one of my dogs. Had to get the little bitch a $3800 surgery when she was only 7 months old. Bet you guys didn't know that the only orthopedic(sp?) dog surgeons in Alberta are based in Calgary

HEWSINATOR
I did know that.

Also, I swear this was discussed before, but I could not find the thread.

As pointed out above, though in theory it is probably a very good idea, but from what I gather thay cap-out quickly and do not cover the things you want to be covered.
