I am looking to get my car detailed in and out cause I just don't have the time. How much should I expect to spend and how good is the quality there? Or anywhere else. And I am also getting my windows tinted. But theres already a post for that! Thanks

| lazy ass, noone can do a decent job of detailing as good as you can for under $300 bucks. So go buy some detailing stuff and spend the money you saved on a neon kit. Plus you get high from the fumes  But seriously, if you absolutely have no time I hear Autodetails is a good place, try them, or go to a BMW, or Porsche dealership and ask them where they send their cars to get detailed. Good luck  |

I don't have anyof the stuff to polish my car myself. So with a shampoo machine rental and a buffer and polishes and stuff like that it would probably cost the same. I also want it professionally done because my paint looks like some wire brushed the whole car and shops would have everything right in front of them so I don't have to drive all over finding equipment. A couple hundred bucks is nothing to have a nice clean car again, then its easier to maintain rather than letting it go like I have the last few months. Thanks for the insight, I'll try auto details on my days off.

Get S2000R to do the job man.
I took my car to a professional detail shop and even "I" could've done a better job.
If you want it to be done quick & effortlessly, go pay for it.
If you want to know your car inside & out, do it yourself. |

| S2000: If your serious I'll get you to do it. Thats in and out right? Do I get the S2000 as a loner car :fingersx: |

In defence of good detailers not all are bad. I do this for a living and take it very, very seriously. I do EVERY car as if it is my own. I have to , I own a detail shop ( Mr. Detail of Red Deer).
I charge about 200.00 to do a car completely. Takes about 5-6 hrs.
Basicly when a car is done right it should look brand new. Period. Don't accept anything less (unless you come in in some 300,000 km p.o.s.).I
I am considering renting out my bay at times for "car guys" like your selves to do your own cars. Use of vacuum, extracter etc, with my self as a guide as to what products (supplied) to use were. I know most of you are not in Red Deer but do you think this is a good idea? I was thinking something like $ 20.00 hr.
Any input would be appricated.
Thanks

Hey TANK I have tons of swirl marks and scratches, in your opinion is it really all going to come out or is it going to be one of those things where I am expecting too much?
P.S. Sorry s2oooR I was calling you S2000. I am still interested though.

| Ziebart sucks balls man. They fuct up the tint on my celica when I had it. They left like huge gaps in between the back window where they had to use 2 different pieces of tint and then when I broght it back for them to "fix" all they did was brush liquid tint over it and if you touched it, it would flake off. They also left little bubbles in places. Also, after I got my car back from being tinted, a couple of my cds mysteriously dissapeared :wtf: . Not impressed... plus those guys there are all dicks. I hear protint is really good and they stand behind their work. |

Well thats cool to know that there would be intrest in a DIY detail bay.
Just give me a call anytime. My shop is located on the street right behind Troy, TR Transmisson, 49th ave. (bay 1-7459-49 ave)
As far as swirls go they should come out. Scratches are a differant story. A pretty good rule of thumb to use is: if you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, it most likely won't come out(cheaply anyway).
I am just starting my own bussiness, but I have been detailing for about 4 years. I use to do mainly trucks that were being shipped to the USA. 40-70 a month. So here I am. I figured Red Deer could use a more personalized Detail shop. One were the customers car means as much to them as the the guy working on it. I work alone and do 1-2 day. No rush. At 38, married and three teenage girls, I can't work too hard. And I welcome anyone to my shop. I love cars of all types, ( currenly I own nothing...sold to finance shop) but I do plan on some thing soon.
Take care,
Tank
