Stereo head unit install question-radio interference? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Quick question for the installers here:

I have a 03 Jeep liberty and went from the factory CD player to a new pioneer head unit. It is a brand new unit, and prior to it I installed two other pioneer head units. The radio wire in the dash has a female end so I need to run an extension to the head unit. All three head units have shitty FM radio reception, while the factory radio is 100% clean reception. Could this be a grounding issue, or the FM extension? I used the factory harness, including grounds, power wires, etc.

Any ideas, or anyone seen this before?

did you use an aftermarket wiring harness that plugs into the OEM harness or did you hard wire it in?

also check antenna connection
you might need to install a noise filter cause some times you get interference from other electical components in the vehicle
example: alternator.

i used a wiring harness adapter, but soldered all the wires going into that.

thought it might be that, but I have never had an issue with those.

could it be that?
