I ran 13.2@109.5mph spinning on 12psi with the FD. Should have got some better tires and turned up the boost a couple more pounds but oh well. I sold the car so it doesn't really matter to me anymore.
Mods were basically Intake, exhaust, fmic and boost controller. |

I haven't ran my car in the 1/4 mile yet, but someone with the same car as mine with 4-2-1 headers and a cool intake was running about 14.5 at something like 108 mph I think.
I went out and watched at the local track once and there was a motorcycle that ran on NOS... lol... that bike ran high 8's, it was crazy. He'd take off one of his runs and sometimes the bike would start wobbling like crazy, I thought he was going to kill himself lol |

Stock GS-Rs run Mid to low 15s AT BEST but typically 15.5-15.7 150-160whp in a 2800lb car will not run 14.5@108MPH

Forgot to mention I lived in vancouver all my life, pretty much as good as it gets for elevation... and the stock times for a GS-R lsited were @ sea level. I know 2 people thay have GS-Rs ones a 93 and he ran a 15.1 with a GSR in a stock LS gutted so its lighter then a normal GSR and my other friend has a 95 GS-R and he ran a 15.5 |

His must have had more in it than I thought he said, too, because his GS-R had closer to 200whp - and he did spin them. He thinks that revving the motor up to 8 grand and dumping it makes the car go faster... duh... well, maybe not quite 8 grand, but close enough from the sounds of it.
We have a local track in White City that has open test runs every Wednesday. He's not a pro-dragger or anything like that. Just a guy with gear-head friends who don't mind working on his car with him.
I don't remember the exact numbers, but I know the first two numbers on the board were 14... I thought it was 14.55 something, but maybe I'm wrong.
As a matter of fact, I think there's drags tomorrow night. I'll see if I can't snap some pics and post em for you to see. Maybe the NOS bike will be out there. He's usually there on Fridays and Saturdays. |

I'm not really THAT concerned about the track times for stock GS-R's... my GS-R isn't even going to BE a GS-R after I'm done with it...
And I did find out that you're right about the Type R motor in the GS-R body. Except it has a turbo and it's got NOS, so that's probably why he got a good track time. I don't know the specifics on the parts though. |

did you run that at castrol, I seen a diesel run, the same day the the zo6 hit the wall, it's traps weren't that high but it was running 11's(at th end on the track he broke a rad hose and still ran an 11 something) |

I didn't know the mk3's weighed that much? The soarer weighed in at 4004 lbs last year but managed to get a 14.1 @98 mph out of it. Now i don't feel quite as bad about my car's weight issue. I'm only a little worse. :lol: |

Stock ¼ mile time on the 7MGTE is 15.6. You have the benefit of a larger more powerful engine in a slightly heavier car. Each year since production of the MKIII in 1986.5 the car became heavier. Some models are slower some are quicker.
I feel it could have run faster if the driver was better. :lol:

Auto Tranny is preferred when drag racing. With a boosted engine you have the benefit of not loosing boost with the auto tranny between shifts. One also does not have to worry about missing shifts with an auto tranny too. :D
I prefer the stick for driving around town. I like to have the control of my shifts. The auto does not really allow me to do that. Sure, I can do the L, 2, D thing (what I sometimes do in the Avalon :lol: )
I plan to drop the 1JZ in when I blow up my current engine. Notice how I did not say “if”:lol:
This winter I am dropping in the ported and polished head with 1mm oversized valves and 5 angle valve job. I should be a bit quicker. I am also doing brakes too. I think it might be a good idea to be able to go quick and stop quick. :lol:

Yeah the auto is nice for the track but shift kit is definitely needed for this year. the 'luxury' smooth shift really isn't all that conducive to quick shifts nor the timing retard during those lovely waiting periods called shifts.
This year should be a good year then, finally installed the boost controller so we'll have a play with a bit more. Then a FMIC and drag radials should make a wee difference too. The best i could do was a 2.082 60 footer on the street tires. There's a lot of launch left if only the traction could take it. Mickey Thompson should help. :D |

Yeah, that was me...the trap wasnt that high because I blew my head gasket with about 200 ft to go...probably woulda dipped closer to 11.5 without the mishap...i have the slip, i just need to scan it...ill post it soon...
