LF a good Compustar installer - Click HERE for Original Thread

BananaBoy
Hey guys.

Wifey has a Mazda CX-7 with a 2 way Compustar installed by the dealer. The starter has never really worked properly. I know there some complications with the fancy keyless system.

Does anybody know where I can find somebody that can fix this? Ya, I know there are plenty of installers out there but there are also plenty of hacks so any recommendation would be helpful.

Thanks.

I would not go to certified. They have not soldered anything I had installed there (no starters though). Try Sound Connection on Argyle Road. Talk to Vingo. He did an amazing job on my prelude for $150 less than any one else there and I didn't have to give up a key (for my immobilizer). At the time, everyone else told me I would loose my immobilizer and key....... now I have the auto start and the security of the immobilizer.

GOT BOOST
Talk to Rick at Aero CarParts. I have had good success with them in the past.

Yes I would unfortunately not come to us for compustar, as we do not sell/service them, our installers are not trained on them, we do have some guys that have installed them for years at other jobs, but we don't work on them, I would suggest AutoTemp, or Garage Works or Transform Spoilers for compustars.

All remote starter jobs are all soldered, and electrical taped, majority of decks are all soldered, but sometimes that depends on the installer,

And anyone on a Honda that tells you are going to loose your key to a AllTrans box or a 556U box doesn't have the proper integration modules, or knowledge. Some shops will straight bypass the immobilizer, that is not good, we integrate with all types of factory security systems. Although on something like a Audi, VW, Volvo, or Jaguar you must loose a key to a all trans box.

X4 for aero car parts, i hear the guy that installs them there is an actual wizard!!! like harry potter type shit!!!!! not to mention incredibly good looking and modest........

just out of curiosity, what is not working or acting up on your crossover utility vehicle?

BananaBoy
Sometimes it starts, sometimes it dosen't, sometimes it starts and it just runs for 30 seconds.

gab
did you lose a key for the install or are they using a module for the key bypass?

BananaBoy
No we still have both keys, it's the flat credit card type that you leave in your pocket/wallet/purse.

gab
have they tried to fix it? any idea who did the install for it? there ae a few different bypasses available for that setup so i am curious as to what was used. but before it costs you more money, mabey get the shop that origionally did it to take another look.

BananaBoy
Got it done at the dealer when the car was new, Park Mazda. Brought is back 3 times over the summer, first two times they said it was fixed, The last time they gave me some BS excuse to get me out off there shop. I told the service manager I was taking my car elsewhere for any service from now on.
