What would the average price be for a kei car, stock as can be. Just interested in picking something up for the fuel factor. Take a Daihatsu or something similar for example. Don't need top of the line sporty, just something extremely small, lightweight, with the best fuel economy. I always see the sports cars, luxury, suv's, vans... but not so many kei cars. Please give a range/estimate.

Awesome! Totally worth considering. Now I need to figure out which one... I will definitely let you know. Which ones are most common (in Japan)?

I think the Suzuki Altos are probably the most popular.

I see. How do they all compare? Most that aren't too sporty & made just for basic transportation must be all around $4000 or so? Which kei's haven't you imported or seen imported? I am most definitely leaning towards the Mira. They seem quite small, light & fuel efficient. Not too many of them around Canada yet I'm sure.

Alto's are probably the most popular Kei car (not counting sports cars or trucks). Almost every Japanese manufacturer has a Kei vehicle, so there are lots to choose from. The appeal of the Alto is that the engine was sold in many different vehicles, and they have good compatibility across many generations.
I doubt there could be very many Mira's in Canada. |
