Ok, so I'm thinking about getting my wife a remote start for Christmas, and I'm trying to decide what remote start to get her.
2 way Compustar pro series
2 way Autostart
2 way Ultrastart u3266m2w
Her car has a sentry key, 5spd, factory alarm and remote entry. I want ease of use for putting in the reserve mode or whatever it's called. And I want it to integrate with the factory stuff, not have the factory alarm and a second alarm type stuff.
The autostart has a regular looking fob, with back lit buttons for the two way, the other two have the fancy lcd screens.
I've gotten some prices and the autostart is about $100 less than the other two, installed.
Thanks |

I own the 2 way of the compustart and nustart (not on your list). They look, work and feel identical? The range is similar although the nustart is rated for 5000 feet and compustart I have is rated for 3000 feet.
In two other vehicles I have the ultrastart and autostart. Only the one way.
To be honest they all have similar build qualities. It is not a matter of 'IF' the controller will break, but rather 'when'.
I do like the LCD display ones since you can at least monitor your vehicle if it has started.
The only differences to me are price.
The only other thing you should look into is how long you will have to wait if you need it installed. The wait can be long during this time of year. |

(no idea why the guy install the antenna behind the tint..duh) sometimes i cant even start the car from the 3rd floor. |

| Astrostart all the way(2 way). I can start my/my wife's cars from 5 times further then most other starters. Pretty much from anywhere in WEM to anywhere in the parking lot. Canadian made, and tons of features/relay's built in. Also all the models for different starter/security of modern vehicles. Most companies say "1 mile range", but you can't seem to start your vehicle from more then 10 feet away. |

| I went in to get a compustar installed today, cept umm they forgot to tell me bring both keys so they can program the transponder.. grrrr.. 200+mile round trip for nothing... plus the transponder costs more if I don't want to loose a key. |

its unfortunate that had to happen, but if you like i can walk you threw the steps to program the transponder part so you wont have to drive another 200 mile's to get it done.
Just make sure they actually installed it and are not waiting for you to come back and then install it, also the brand they used. Its a very simple procedure if you have 2 keys that start the car.
Also, where did you get it done if you dont mind me asking? |
