ive been searchin high and low for a Checklist on what parts there is to a turbo system...
I plan on turbo-in my 90 Lude (B21A1 Engine) (and since im still new to this) id like to know what i should be looking to buy.
From what ive been told, theres next to no bolt on kits and even if one was found, it would probably be very poor....
So if any of you know of possibly a link to a site that has a list of parts needed, or can name them off the top of your head, i would appreciate it. (my search isnt over, but any help is good help)
Thank you very much for your time.

| The problem is you well also need to address ignition and fuel to. |
|
|
| firestarter |
Quick list
Manifold, turbo, oil feed and return, oil pan tapped for return, downpipe, boost piping(bends and silicone couplers), intercooler (optional), fueling (fmu, piggyback, stand alone, etc) b.o.v or diverter (optional) plus alot of hardware.
this is a very basic list to get you started!! |

hondata s300 is all he will ever need. Its like i told you in your picture thread. Go to www.preludepower.com
Honda-tech.com can help some what but the largest 3rd gen community in the world resides on preludepower, i know for a fact that there are at least 3 huge turbo build threads on that site.
It is smarter to ask the people building there 3rd gens rather than asking the edmonton scene. Your not going to find your answers here for your car. You'll get some but you wil get much more at those two sites. |

ok sweet i got a nice list of parts now, thanks yall!
now all i have to clarify is what my engine is....
According to wikipedia:
B21A1
(16-valve, DOHC, PGM-FI)
* Found in:
o 1990-1991 Honda Prelude SI USDM
o 1990-1991 Honda Prelude SR Canadian Market
* Power: 145 hp (108 kW) @5800 rpm
* Torque: 135 ft·lbf (183 N·m) @5000 rpm
* Engine cc: 2056.03
* Cylinder cc: 514.0075
* Deck cc: 10.191
* Head cc: 51.0
* Compression Ratio: 9.4:1
Now what ive seen on prelude power and stuff (since most of them are from the states, there ludes are Si's... so that would mean:
B20A5
(16-valve, DOHC, PGM-FI)
* Found in:
o 1988-1991 Honda Prelude 2.0Si
* Power: 138 hp (103 kW) @ 6200 rpm
* Torque: 127 ft·lbf (172 N·m) @ 4000 rpm
* Engine cc: 1958.14
* Cylinder cc: 489.535
* Deck cc: 13.885
* Head cc: 47.3
* Compression Ratio: 9.0:1
So is it safe to assume my engine is the B21A1??? |

its safer to pop the hood open and look beside the header for the code. It will be on the left side while you are facing the car. Its a little badge imprinted into the engines block.
those compression ratios are great for boost. Thats why i told you to boost it! |
|
|
| Beagles |
| i am gonna boost it!, ill keep it boosted till the engine goes kapoot.... then ill get it rebuilt to handle a lot more boost :p |
|
|
| Beagles |
| on another note... i cant find the code -_-.... if it makes any difference, the engine was rebuilt before.. |

| just a heads up you cant buy a bolt on turbo kit for your b21 man they are only for the b20 and super hard to find. second yes there are a few diffrences. third dont do it to a b21 it doesnt hold compression very well and last go to preludepower.com and read there dude dont wnat to crush your dreams but unless you have a ton of time and know a ton about cars and not a cocky know it all you actually know what the hell your talking about you might want to read up alot on it. yes i have read up on it and i also have a b21 but if i were you i would look more into a h22 swapp or b20 swapp andd turbo/ buil it up. but who the hell am i to say anything i ma just a fellow b21 owner and have done a ton of research on are cars and engine, and i work in a shop. |

| wow and another key if you are goign to turbo cause i can tell you dont know cars very well so you aint doing it yourself its going to be near 5-6 grand and a b21 can only hold up to 7 pounds of boost and thats scketchy casue we have diffrent sleeves in are engines so you want to build it up to hold more boost your sending your engine out of the city to get built do research man please dont go on ebay and buy sometihng it WILL be wrong |

| lovinthespeed |
| ya set you goals high i aint saying dont but set them high to getting a turbo b20 in or a h22 casue it is retarded to do your gaol man just research shit and rember parts are 1/3 of your pay the shops are super exspensive if you aint doing it yourself which you cant do sorry and please learn thats the point of these forums just read please |

| ewll i was just giving you the heads up that everythingto turbo are car has to be custom to the max they dont make a kit so you better know a ton about turbos man, but i can tell your young so GOOD LUCK :) |
|

there's always the poor man's turbo kit. NAAWWWZZZ! do a crappy wet shot system and you're good to go :thumbup: in the mean time if you want to keep your prelude and upgrade i would suggest doing research on the third gen H22a swap. it's not easy, but it's also not impossible. a guy in calgary right now has an H22a 4 wheel steering 88 prelude and its drop dead sexy, and fuckin fast.
and mclovinthespeed you're sentences are better, you just need to learn where the " . " button is now :beer: |
|
|
| lovinthespeed |
| ahahah ya i ma getting better slowly. and i have been doing a ton of research in the h22 swap. it really is not as hard as everyone ays as long as you have mechanic knowledge its its just a bunch of try hards saying its a hard swap. cause all parts that are hard and need customing there are group buys on them |
|
|
| Beagles |
| thanks yall, slowly but surely ill learn and get my way up there! Atm i got a few resources, maximum boost is one of them lol.... and im still in the process of finding a good information site on the h22. |
|
|
| lovinthespeed |
| www.preludepower.com man they have everything one guy has his h22 to hold up to 17.5 pounds of boost already talk to him his names tyler go to are website and he will be there n you will realize its alot of money and time |
|
|
| elrhyso |
| prelude3g.com has a good step-by step for the H22a swap also |
