After waiting almost two months for the scheduled appointment, I took
my car to your the west shop to repair a little bent/scratch in the rear
right panel.
After one week in the shop, I picked up yesterday, even though the
car was covered with snow, I removed it to see the overall quality of
the job.
Right away I could tell that the rear bumper wasn't painted right. The
bumper step pad wasn't removed (even though the bumper
was removed) and now has a distinctive line around of paint indicated
that was covered for paint.
I went inside to the shop and talked to the guy, and he agreed that that
cover should be removed and that I'll be receiving another call to
book the car for repair, but will take another month or so to have it
fixed.
The when I got home, with appropriate light I checked the rest of the
work and I noticed some dark spot in the paint besides the roof rack.
So very bad experience, they're just publicity. How come they didn't notice?? Shouldn't they have a QC?
After complaining the manager sent me an email saying that they didn't remove the step pad because it 'd been destroyed in the process. And about the dark spots in the paint they will take a look by te time they will fix the bumper.
So I wouldn't reccomend to this shop to anyone. And they chargin $1200 to the other person insurance:eek:  |

I highly doubt the insurance company will let them get away with that - they don't tend to pay for work twice when it should've been done right the first time, and they have enough business that they can persuade shops to cover the cost of their mistakes.
This is the whole reason that if your insurance company offers you a list of shops that they guarentee the work for, you take one of them. |

| Body shops don't get on the "preferred" list because of quality, its because they give the insurance company a reduced rate. For example, if the shops hourly labor rate is $60, the insurance company is probably only paying $47/hr. Insurance companies do very little as far as guaranteeing quality unless they get so many complaints about a particular shop, than they'll remove them from their list. |

I'm not sure where you get your information but you are entitled to receive your car back in the same (or better) condition than it was before the accident occurred.
So yes, the insurance companies are very concerned about quality because the work will have to be redone until it's proper.
Being on the "preferred" list is because you are typically offered a lifetime guarentee on the work that is performed. Your insurance company stands behind this, and odds are they will be in business long after you sell the car. |

| If a job has to be redone because of poor quality, it is at the expense of the body shop, not the insurance company. The warranty is provided by the body shop. If there is a dispute about the quality of work that has been done, it is between the owner of the vehicle and the body shop. The insurance company rarely gets involved. |

when its fixed you usually have to sign something with the insurance company to say that they covered you. You can always hold that back from them.
When the insurance company had to do work on my jeep they told me that the shop that I wanted to take it to wasn't certified under them and I risk them doing a shitty Job. |
