Installing a car starter here - Click HERE for Original Thread

mazda3 fanatic
I just dropped off my 2004 Lexus RX330 to have a car starter installed. I'll post back later after the install with the results.

So far the experience has been very good. Rick is very pleasant to deal with and very willing to answer any and all questions you may have. I was referred to this place from a friend who had their car starter installed here too and he was more than happy with the quality of work and customer service provided.

I know that the installation of a car starter for my vehicle is a bit more complicated and most other places charge an arm and a leg to do it. The prices I got from Rick were very competetive.

I will post back with the results when my car is returned to me later this afternoon.

I got my vehicle back and the install was clean and proper.

There was a miscommunication of how the system would work though (on my vehicle as it has a quirk that only pertains to this particular vehicle - meaning other vehicles will not have this issue) as I was told that I would need to use my Lexus key fob to lock and unlock the vehicle instead of the CompuStar fob (which I thought was fine as I had to carry the Lexus key fob regardless), but what wasn't clearly communicated to me was that I could not use my Lexus key fob while the vehicle was started via the CompuStar system. If I start my car using the starter remote, I would need to turn off the starter system and then unlock my vehicle with my Lexus key, or use the actual key in the door to unlock the vehicle while it was started. Not the ideal solution as this vehicle is for my wife and newborn son so it's not easy to juggle everything around in -30 temps...

All in all, the work was done in a reasonable amount of time and the customer service was very very good. I would bring another vehicle to this place to have a starter put in.

Thanks Rick.

Okay, how's this for customer service above and beyond expectations:

Rick had contacted me in regards to a wiring update that could resolve the door lock issue AFTER I had already paid him and left his business. He was under no obligation to do so, but has gone through the trouble of booking me in to his busy schedule to make me (a brand new customer) happy.

I took my RX330 back in this morning and dropped it off. Rick even called a taxi and paid for it so I could get back to work on time for an important meeting... When I returned to pick up the vehicle, everything was in working order. Once again, the entire transaction was smooth and friendly. The customer service is amazing. This place definitely gets an A+ from me.

Thanks again Rick! I know where I (as well as my family and friends) am going to in the future for any car starter installations... :)
