| why are you putting a cage in if you don't even know how fast your car is? You only need a 4 point roll bar if it can run a 11.49 or quicker in the 1/4 |

| Thats great and not what i asked i asked who does installations and a good job. if u dont have an answer dont post. |

Don't get all butt hurt
I just think it's overkill and a waste of money to be putting a 12 point cage into a car that may or may not be able to run high 11's. Nevermind running fast enough to require a 12 point cage. |

| it will easily run 11's but im also trying to sell it so i just wanted some price quotes on what this would cost. i got a 1970 challenger and a 1970 torino coming in so im Stressed atm >.< |

I like your taste haha.
My pappy owns a 1975 demon and I came close to buying a '72 torino myself but didn't end up going through with it.
Where about's are you shipping the challenger from? did you get it from the states is what i'm asking cause I'm thinking of doing that. |

if it's 4130 you have to tig it in
i know a guy who offered to weld mine in for a fee, we never discussed how much but i know he could do it. |

The challenger is causing hassle im actually going to bow out of the deal because i feel its to good to be true. yes it was coming from the states and im having alot of trouble's with bringing it here. Based on all this Border/Charges and everything else that comes along to be honest id rather fly there drive the thing across the god dam boarder its becoming a real hassle to get these cars now with the camaro i might sit on it i hear from the muscle car world that these things are gonna sky rocket in value in about 10 years so we'll see but that also means the muscle cars will be Even rarer once they start considering 3rd gen camaros muscle carsquote: Originally posted by RideDomestic

| Oh I'm not surprised, the cost of owning a muscle car is only going to go up. That's too bad about the challenger tho and ya I hope all goes well with the torino and the roll cage  |

Thanks and yah i wonder how hard its gonna start getting to insure these dam things i have never seen a real torino actually only pictures im preety excited though it looks like a wicked car and im getting it from a guy who HAND delivers his muscle cars on his OWN truck so shipping from B.C to hear is only 150 bucks the torino is sitting in a Flat black so a paint job will be in order its in primer but other then that its a nice car nice rims interior ect with a 351. AS wel only setting me back 5000 for the car :) Preety snazzy deal when you find the honest guys
Thats why if this goes through i drastically dropped the price on my camaro |

What happens if you're at the track and your car runs (unexpectedly) lower than 11.50? Are you banned from the track until you have the cage installed or can you keep running as long as you don't go faster than 11.50? |

1st time they gave me a warning, 2nd time the asked me to leave. But since they never technically banned me, I could have went the following weekend and ran a sub 11.5 again.
When Z_Fan ran a sub 11.5 in Sask, they actually gave him a formal 3 month (i think, but not positive on the length) ban, and a letter to go with it.
2 years ago when Z_Fan and myself ran sub 11.5's at the last night of the year, they didn't say anything.
A lot depends on how much quicker you're running then a 11.5. Take my 11.2 run, that is a fair margain quicker, so that's why I got the nice run, but slow it down speech. Which of course I ignored
It's hardly surprising if you run quicker then a 11.5. It takes practise, money and a lot of power to do it. I was actually a little dissappointed with my 2 sub 11.5 runs, as with both runs I blew off vacuum lines which really hurt my times. |

Officially if they follow the rules, yes you are gone until your car meets the requirements for how fast your car could run. Depending on who's at the track that night, you might be allowed to continue to run as long as you slow it down. |

| but whats the point, try and get a 1.5 60 foot or an amazing 1/8 mile and then slowdown..... |

If you want to keep running for that night... lol
I wouldn't want to have come out there, found out my car was fast as fuck, then have to sit on the side... I'd gladly still practice my reaction times. |

I think there is only 3 tracks in Alberta, aren't there
Castrol
Race City

| creep forward a foot to trip the light, wait a couple seconds, then look at your MPH in the end. i know a couple people that used to do that so they wouldn't get kicked off. |
|
|
| catlin987987 |
I don't get it, even if you trip the light it still gives your your time, I have run
13.8 at 106MPH
and
13.8 at 98 MPH
so who cars what MPH your at |
|
|
| Invalid Zero |
| Because you know how much power your car is putting down when you know the MPH and weight. |

Mph tells you how fast your car is, et tells you how good you are at drag racing.
Edit: haha whoops I meant to say mph tells you how fast your car is in terms of power durrrr |

It means that the car has a better chanced of running a lower time. In less legal forms of racing high MPH cars are usually the ones that win races. |

NHRA requires that you tig 4130
you can mig or tig regular mild steel cages though.
Dumb part is during certification they only check for tig welding, doesn't matter to them if it shatters apart.
so if you are using 1 5/8 x .083 4130 it needs to be seamless dom and tig welded or you "should" fail tech. |
