Any torque numbers to go along with that? If dodge decided to rate this srt4 at the crank and not at the wheels this time around the torque numbers should be in favor of the ms3. But then again I don't have a dyno to prove that.

hmm, looks like some kind of funky intake track or variable cam timing.

though it looks like you need to take it past redline to take advantage of it.

the caliber made 248lbs/tq

and the funky spikeish thing at the end is more then likely from the vvt

not bad considering it's only boosting 7-8 lbs, with a quick 10lb spike.

Doesn't a stock srt4 neon make close to 250tq at the wheels too? I've always had tonnes of respect for the srt4 neon because of that and it's light weight. But now the new caliber and the ms3 are porkers compared to some of the earlier subcom models out there and that extra boost in power just seems to offset their fat thighs. Again another reason the neon srt4 will be imortalized, even if you have to put a paper bag over it's face everytime you look at it.:thumbup:

Another, ugly, fast, cheap car from Dodge. I'm sure we'll see guys of all ages racing around the streets in these soon.

yup, a typical dyno of a bone stock one was 220hp-235, and anywhere from 235lbs/tq to as high as 260 on some cars.

The biggest problem I see with the ms3 and caliber srt is their wheel/brake sizes. I've only read of 1 guy who's been able to put a 15" wheel (for slicks) on his ms3, and he had to use huge spacers and a pretty fancy rim in order for it not to hit his calipers.

Yeah it's shit like that, that adds to their weight. Suspension and the damn hatchback.

I may sound like an idiot but what is the MS3? I actually like these but I did like the SRT4s and wish I would have gotten the one I turned down...these seem nice and pretty practical on another note

ms3= mazdaspeed 3

Dodge has to make an SRT version of everything they make. why the hell cant honda and nissan do this?!

I WANT MY CTR!!!!

I personally hate the look of the caliber. The srt-4 neon actually looked sexy IMO and it definatly sounded like a rip' snortin' fast car. The MS3 is also definatly a favorite of mine. I just wish they made it AWD. The 2.3 makes so much more power with the DI and they had to reduce the power levels just so they could control the torque steer to some degree.

AudiInProgress
I like ALL the SRT models... Even the ugly 4 door charger looks good in SRT trim...

It still wouldn't touch these SRT's. Honda would have to come out with a turbocharged 4 banger to compete.

The days when companies were putting out 160HP TURBO 4 bangers, while Honda had 200+HP N/A counterparts is pretty much over.
