| ok so i was reading up on some australian site on aristos that the speakers are really hard to replace since they are in a ported box each. so im thinking to fix my problem would be to replace the factory deck they say thats what some of them did and it fixed there problems. now i know you cant get a deck kit so you have to kind of improvise and i would have to change the factory amp and re wire the speakers. so this is gonna sound like a dumb question but would it be possible to run 2 decks since it has a tape player and a cd player? i dont have the means to make my own deck kit so instead of converting it to a single din would this work? |

you can run one or 2 decks, but why would you want to run 2 decks?
all you need to do is go to the factory amp, and take the big output plug, and test the wires to see what goes to what speaker, then attach lines from there and run from there to the back of the new deck, along with getting power turn on and ground behind the deck and then you have all your wires.
Then you can drill into the ISO mounts on it, to fit a regular deck, and then just need to make your own trim for it.
I'm sure you could stop by here at the west store if you want me to explain it better in person to you, and if you needed us to do it i'm sure we could, you would just be looking at sometime in jan or feb that we would be able to fit it in. |

a gs300 dash kit should allow you to put a single din in there, but a double din is so much cooler. since the gs300 was the usdm version of the aristo minus the tt setup, the dash kit should work, and maybe even a wiring harness from walmart.
but then again if you cheap out you may not be happy with looks.
but on the down side a kit for a double din would be harder to find.
it may be something that needs to be made custom. which should not be hard if you are any good with a saw and have adequate woodworking skills.
from the factory amp you could use a 1.5v (~6W @ 4 ohm) or a 9 volt battery (~36W @ 4ohm) to test to see which speaker the pop comes from. |

No a GS300 dash kit will not work, trust me, months and months before I bought my first aristo I got a dash kit for it, but it doesn't work. one side is a straight 90, and the other is on a angle, and on the aristo it is swapped the other way,
And there is no harness avaliable for the GS300, we have the largest stock for harnesses in Edmonton and i've gone through every Lexus and Toyota harness and none work.
Even the one for the SC300 or SC400's won't work |
