Connecting After market headunit steering wheel radio controls? - Click HERE for Original Thread

ae1969
So I have a vehicle with the radio functions (vol up/down etc) on the steering wheel. I have seen that some head units have an external input for an external control.

As far as I understand the external input allows you to wire up the connections from the steering whee.

Has anyone had any experience or know of a shop that is able to do this?

It is for an 08' F350.

I am looking for a headunit with these key features if you have any suggestions......

- double din
- Nav
- DVD player
.....

Go to Certified radio. They have a large selection of wiring adapters to allow aftermarket units to work with the stock steering wheel controls. Being that your truck is an 08, that wiring adapter may not be available yet.

Yes come stop by and i can show you all your options

There are some that are wireless, well IR for the controls and others that directly plug into the back of decks

I would Suggest one of the Pioneer Avic Units such as the Z2 or D3

come by our new west store and i can show you a couple different units
