good luck man

i know for a fact its tough to find ZE parts on this site. Not a whole lot of exsposure. Hell of a motor though. But that stuff isnt ze specific. all the stuff from a LS mx-6/PGT works just the same. and more people will know what you talking about.

i got a buddy at work that has a shop doing a klze swap in his mx6. Y i don't know since he wants to boost it.

no luck on the mx6 forums?, gl with the finds.

ExtremeV
will an american 5 sp bolt up?

Fazda
the tranny's that are in the klze and the klde should bolt up just fine, its only the motor that is differnt, just fine a mx6ls or a pgt and get some spare parts, as for buddy swapping the klze to run boost why the hell would u put a higher comp motor in if you plan on running boost, any one who has ever owned a probe or mx6 should know better than that

T-LAV MRV
thats the thing, he doesn't know better.

nothing wrong with high comp boost motors.

Timmie_G
you can do it... 1 of 2 ways

1. run Low boost tops 5 psi. (which is dumb as hell but o well not my car)

2. Crazy expensive Forged Internals and lots of other overpriced stuff.

One of the harder things with boosting that motor is figuring out what to do with the Variable Intake System. I mean you can remove the flaps inside and stuff which is a PITA or get a new manifold

lol 5psi tops..

300-350whp on a boosted ze is definately do-able (while reliability shouldn't be a problem), whatever psi that co-relates to depends entirely on the turbo set-up you decide to run.

Aslong as its tuned well that is. High comp motors are just alot more sensitive to tuning, doesnt mean they cant take boost.

The stock KLDE and K8DE Transmissions will bolt up.

I had a KLZE MX3.

im perfer my f2t for a motor base on the first gen, i know alot of people boost the klze, but why do that, it is obviously better to run more boost on a lower comp klde, than less boost on a klze, being you will be increasing the compression anyways. hopefully you get your new tranny in with no problems. i love my probe! ill own one till the day i die.:blue:

ExtremeV
well basically i have 96 mazda mx-6 klze w/ auto tranny
and i put in
93 jdm klze w/ manual tranny

can't find halfshaft or driver tranny mount for the jdm 5spd tranny

and they yield more power per PSI of boost compared to a low compression engine

Which tranny mount do you need? I am quoting mtx mounts here...
There are 4: drivers side top of tranny, one at the firewall, one at the crossmember at the front bottom [next to the slave cylinder] and the not so important mount underneath the tranny also going to the same crossmember.

I have a few spares, but am in Calgary.

Oh and the KLZE pretty much is the same on the outside, anything bolts up from the US spec equip as you asked the tranny for one. Only difference being the ZE doesnt come with all the EGR crap which I suggest you rid of anyways.
There are rumours that some JDM trannies come with LSD, no one has proved it yet though.

ExtremeV
I found the parts i needed, but have a new problem.
the motor is 93 jdm klze and the car is 96 mazda mx-6
can i still the obd II ecu, is there any changes i need to make?
i also changed from factory auto tranny
to usdm 5spd.

tomt64
Bad luck for you, it can be done but only with extensive re-wiring. I would go to the j/y and get a OBDI wiring harness. Be warned though, it will be a pain in the arse. What code ECU do you have? It will say on the top of it.
