| i passed by that area yesterday and noticed that the red light camera was set fairly low, low enough that a truck would hit the box itself dead on if they want. also, on 75st and whitemud, they have those little cameras up on top of the light poles. is this how the city is preparing for the green light cameras? |

| henday turn off lights at yellowhead have them.. There are other locations also. I believe they are some type of traffic counter for the lights. Once the beam is crossed x number of times, the lights change. |

| the cameras high up on light pole i always thought were for traffic cameras. The ones that tv stations show during the news. |

I hope it was. Its about time the damn things start working. Its like every edmontonian thinks he has the right to drive through a red light on a left hand turn simply because they waited through 1 light already.
Hell its got so bad even when its green for me, i have to wait for 3 cars to finish making a left hand turn while its their red simply because suddenly there is some mentality that its fine to do that now. |

That is probably number 3 of my "crap on the road that pisses me off" list.
Yellow means EXIT the intersection , not drive stupid fast INTO the intersection. |

| But it would flash every car, including the ones turning left with an arrow and on green lights... People wern't even speeding by and it would go off. |

the rectangular white box is a x-band radar that helps control the lights... it just senses whether a car is approaching or not. those are all over and they set my radar detector off at full-tilt sometimes at the right angle. spruce grove has a really strong one.
the round ones and the dome ones are traffic cams like shaw shows, but they only show the most interesting ones. |
