carpet mats in the washing machine? - Click HERE for Original Thread

e46
i vaccumed them but i wanna get the brown shit out.... can i throw them in the wash machine to clean them?

polishguy
I would use a handheld attatchment from a carpet cleaner. Don't think throwing them in the washer is a good idea.

BTW, you should invest in some all-weater rubber mats.

e46
lol i just put in the rubber mats in today, they were sitting in a bag in my shed... was just to busy to put them in.. finally got a day off and did it today

Putting them in the washing machine would probably warp the shit out of them.

na they wouldnt warp... i have a front load washer and i could just steam them afterwards and they'll straighten out

costco always have good deal on TV and other stuff, always able to return with no question ask

e46
huh?

well anyway, i tried the washing machine... worked great

Invalid Zero
Why not just do like everyone else and wash them at the car wash? The pressure from the hose won't hurt them at all if you don't get 2" away.

Car wash FTW. Just give them a soak with the soap, let them sit while you finish washing the car, then come back and rinse them at the end. I'll even give them a quick vacuum if there is time left. Usually they'll be completely dry within a day.

or theres a carwash on kingsway just east of canadian tire, they have carpet cleaning brushes and foam cleaning stuff. and its a good carwash too. plus, costco is awesome, i like free samples from there when they have them for my eating pleasure.
