| hey guys quick question, my old man has a 96 intrepid v6, lately the brake light has been pissing around on him, when you step on the breaks then accelerate quickly the break light flashes on the dash, any ideas? also under normal conditions the idle on the car is perfect around 800ish, but on start up it pumps up to around 2200 and is slowly raising higher, but kicks right back down to 1100 cold idle and then down to 800 on warm, any ideas on that one as well? thanks |

Sounds dumb but check the fluid, there is a low sensor on some new vehicles that turns the light on the dash on when its low.
SO when it "swooshes" around in the resevoir it might read low enough briefly to trip the sensor. |

i had a 95 and the high idle is caused by a dirty IAC valve
take it out and clean it and then it should idle fine |

| the idling i belive is normal, if i am correct computer makes the car idle a lil higher than normal when its cold, but as soon as it worms up a bit it takes it right down....someone correct me if i am wrong |

| park brake? most likely ratcheting mechanism and cable tension is inadequate.. |

some high idle is fine, 2200 on a cold start is far to high, i'll try the iac thanks, and as for the fluid i checked it long ago and repeatedly since i assumed the same thing that it would slosh, it's fine, i'll check the park brake though never thought of that one thanks for the help any other ideas would be appreciated |

| it's switching between brake and parking brake, i was thinking loose electrical but for the life of me i can't seem to find it, doesn't mean it's not there but i'm just trying to eliminate everything else i can to make sure |
