So my dentist in june tells me I will need to remove my wisdom teeth.. but I still have some time.. fast forward to today and my right wisdom tooth is growing outward towards my cheek... and a nice fat chunk of cheek meat is swollen making it painfull to swallow let alone eat.
I call my dentist but I have to wait until january 11th before he is available.
Does anyone know of any places that would probly do a removal asap? How about the new place that opened up on 137? infinity dental? I hear the doctors there are really new :dunno: |

There are a few 24 hr emergency dental clinics around town. Sounds like it is just infected.
They can look at it, give you some antibiotics to subdue the infection, and Advil to subdue the pain.
Sometimes you need to see an oral surgeon to get them removed.
Mine were all impacted and I refused to get them taken out. I switched dentists and upon my first visit he said they are coming out. Booked me an appt with the oral surgeon and out came 4 teeth a few weeks later. It was well worth it. :D

theres one on stoney plain road near the safeway area thats 24 hours.
i think theres a new place near my house at 127st and 153ave right behind the 7-11 that is accepting new patients as well, so their probably not too busy and could get you in quickly |

Having suffered thru a horrible wisdom tooth episode...well actually 4 mine were all the way to China the dentist said and it was done in 4 separate operations...they even had to bring in an anesthesiologist (is that how you spell that?)
Anyways I hated to hear of you suffering so I called that place that newaccorddriver mentioned...unfortunately they are not open 24 hours...
Emergency Dental Clinic
483 7079
14983 Stony Plain Road
7 days a week....call ahead
I also thought there was a 24 hour on the Mayfield Road but I couldn't find anything :(
Take some Advil and call someone tomorrow... |

I went to the one mentioned on Stony plain road. It was a stat holiday and very late at night. Mind you this was a few years ago, they may not be 24 hrs anymore.
Best of luck, I have been in your situation and it is not fun. Once the teeth are pulled you will feel much better in the long run.
It is not as bad as people say it is. I recommend the put you out if you do it. They did that for me and it was the best 2 hr sleep I had in a while. Yes..it took them 2 hrs to get mine out, however mine was slightly more than a smash and grab. They needed to remove a small part of my jaw as well.
Best of luck.

I'll second that. For me it felt like blinking, and then suddenly feeling very rested with gauze shoved in my cheeks. |

Thanks for your concern blondy. And the rest for your replies.. well I took some advil and it does help abit, but do you guys really recommend going local? Rather than to stay awake for the pull? If I could pull them today I'd just stay awake as I always had the fear of never "waking up" after getting put under anastesia(however you spell it) I know the chances are slim to none but I would only go under local if I really needed to.
Maybe I'm just paranoid.
Well I'm going to call my dentist tomorow again and hopefully there will be a cancellation.. I might be able to hold off for a few more days but if it gets worse I'll definatly give a few places a call or just go to the u of a in that matter to get these fuckers pulled. |

Its Emergency Dental but isnt a 24hr clinic. You will have to be seen in Emergency and If absolutly needed they will call in a dentist. They do run unitl 2300hrs though but the staff are :asshole: 's |

Well guys this morning I went to my dentist as he was able to fit me in sooner.. I only took out the right one as it was the one that was bothering me.. I was awake.. and lets just say it wasnt pleasant.
Well I mean it wasnt as bad as I tought it would be.. my dentist is without doubt a very experienced guy.. got it out in about 15 minutes and I didnt feel a thing until he was REALLY digging in deep you hear CRACKS and feel your jaw move about.. then once it's out the pain started. :dunno:
Thanks for everyone's concern and advice once again! |
