well as we all know people in the city of Edmonton can really use a fuckin brain when it comes to driving these days. i have been cut off, swereved into, waited at intersections for people who forgot what green meant, and people who wait until there is NO car in sight until they come out to turn left... i even had some guy come out of his truck and want to fight me cuz he wanted to go before me at a 4 way stop when i was CLEARLY there first....i just want to scream... i dont know what to do anymore. personally if it were up to me EVERY car would have a car phone and their lisence plate would be the phone number so i can call then and tell them how fuckin stupid they are. im almost at the point where i might have to go to rehab or anger management to deal with the bullshit that this city has inherited for driving skills...
anyways. what do you do to vent?? |

| Fuck tell me about it. Edmonton drivers are retarded. I had someone honk at me because I didn't turn left after another car turned left on a yellow light. WTF it was going to be red, I'll wait thanks. |

| I've been honked at pedestrian crosswalks where someone is crossing from my right to left and I'll be in the right hand lane waiting for them to get out of the crosswalk. What most people don't know is that you can't go into the crosswalk until they're out, but I wait and get honked at for not moving. |

I used to think edmonton drivers were horrible.... then I drove in the states. Down around california/arizona NOBODY signals on the freeways or major roads. Less than 50% of drivers signal in urban areas and people cut you off like its their job. Speeding and racing is big down there and everyone under 25 who drives an import is a dori king. Probably 30% of cars have some sort of damage and there are many many cracked bumpers. But the worst thing ever is that you can be traveling down an interstate at 80mph and all of a sudden everybody slams on their brakes and slows to under 30mph.
I drive the whitemud every day and the worst that happens is some crazy fucktard will stop on the merge lane in rush hour and refuse to merge or someone will cut you off. You have no idea how enraging it is when you are going 140km/h and all of a sudden a group of 20 cars ahead of you which were traveling your speed slam on the brakes. Most of the time there is no reason for the sudden hault. On a trip from phoenix to flagstaff this happened to me three times. I'm glad I live in edmonton. |

I used ot get too fucking angry... especially when the other guy/girl is int he wrong and then honk or flip u the bird. But after getting a in pissing match with a dumbass driver i decided its not fucking worth it. i'll just smile and turn up my music. Just new years eve, a guy on 109 street before futurshop decides to dash infront on my car, the street was clear and i was doing about 50-60. His friend even hesitated and didnt cross as it was dark and i clearly didnt see the jaywalking fucker.. I honked, so he turns and flips me the finger... u know wat.. i didnt fuckin think about it.. and enjoyed my night...
Before, in Cairo (u have to jaywalk) i used to intentionally lock my brakes to scare the living shit out of the fuckers when they pretend they cant see me.. It used to work but then again its not worth it. |

| I used to get hella enraged looking in my rearview and seeing a Pickup truck swerving in and out of lanes to get ahead, so Id anticipate his motion and get into the lane he was going to pass everyone on. But after a couple times of this I realized how fucking angry I was getting, and try very very hard not to do it anymore. Like Im still fully aware of lift kit faggots ripping around, but I just let them pass and hope they wrap a pole and not another driver. |

| Man, I'm sure I could find 10+ threads over the past year on this very forum where I ranted and raved about Edmonton drivers, and I've realized that I need to change my attitude as well... Driving a granpamobile helps, because it's acceleration is sluggish, handling is nonexistant, and mileage is piss-poor at best... So I just lean my seat way back and pretend like I'm diving my lay-z-boy down the street in my undies... It also helps that I installed a deck because now I can crank my own tunes. I don't think I've really had any horror stories since my last accident. |

This is a very common misconception. All you have to do is yield to the pedestrian, there is no where it says you have to wait for them to exit the crosswalk.
quote: 41(1) A person driving a vehicle shall yield the right of way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within a crosswalk.
(2) Where a vehicle is stopped at a crosswalk to permit a pedestrian to cross the roadway, a person driving any other vehicle that is approaching the stopped vehicle from the rear shall not overtake and pass the stopped vehicle.
(3) At any place on a roadway other than at a crosswalk, a person driving a vehicle has the right of way over pedestrians unless otherwise directed by a peace officer or a traffic control device.
(4) Nothing in subsection (3) relieves a person driving a vehicle from the duty of exercising due care for the safety of pedestrians.
