SR 1/4 miles? - Click HERE for Original Thread

TylerH
Since no one was really believing me here is a post on NWN about people talking about 1/4 mile runs with stock (w/FMIC) sr's running low 14s. One guy says there is no way to break into the 13's. What do you think about that Aaron (you must have somethin hiding under your hood) ;)

Aren't there at least three variants of a "stock" SR20DET engine out there, each with different hp ratings, and possibly different turbos (I forget all the minute details)?

There is 3 variants, 4 if you include AWD. Any one of them with stock turbo, exhaust and FMIC will get you into the 13's. If you're car is light and are a good driver 12.9 is possible.

TylerH
Yes there are quite a few variants (s13 redtop, s13 blacktop, s14 blacktop [i think pretty much identical to the s13 blacktop], s15 blacktop), and if you include the transverse mounted engines even a couple more (not engines but setups). I agree with you Jared about the times, i'm amazed at how slow these guys are running, that was my point.

Weird, I"m not too sure what to say about that. Even at this altitude of about 2500ft above sealevel, full interior, I was running a 13.7. Weird. But I'm sure Jared is right. Although those guys on NWN were pretty persistant on the info. they were giving. We'll see what happens on the 20th of July. ;)

There are great sites for people wanting to know pretty in-depth info about the SR. http://www.srswap.com/html/info/faq_specs.htm and

Turbine specs, stroke and bore, good stuff :)
