Any issues with CAI??? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I wanna buy a Stillen CAI for my Sentra, but the issue is sucking up water. Is it possible to hydrolock your engine on just a rainy day?? Anyone have any issues with your intakes?

If every thing else is stock, and you didn't cut holes in your inner fenders or something like that, Stillen would have engineered the kit to work in all weather.

buy a by-pass valve.

think my AEM by-pass valve cost $50'ish bucks from speedtech.

Waste of money. My intake is maybe 2inches off the ground, no prob in heavy rain ect ect.

ive driven through the rain a lot of times. It's fine just make sure you don't go over those huge puddles.

Blackout-spec
exactly what everyone else said. the filter is there so you dont suck up water/dirt into your intake. unless you drive through a deep puddle and submerge it you will be fine. my cai is prob 5" off the ground and ive never had any problems. if your can does start to run funny, check the filter and see how wet it is inside it. if its a bit damp, just take it off dry it out and let you MAF dry out good.

Stillen makes great stuff for Nissans.

When I had my B13 Sentra I ordered a WAI and exhaust from them.
I would also recommend looking at the unorthodox Racing Underdrive pulleys (If they are available).

I've had an AEM CAI on my Sentra for at least 2 years now, and I drive it all year round, through all kinds of weather. I've had no problems with water.

This whole perceived fear of sucking up water is greatly over-exaggerated. Just don't be stupid and drive through a really deep puddle and you should be fine.

Mine is really low and I havnt even noticed any moisture on my filter. Although i dont have a bypass so im usally super careful in heavy rain.
