I want to take Kayaking lessons.

Where are some good places to go for instruction and groups?

I am not looking for anything crazy like white water kayaking right now, but maybe in the future.

Just want to get the basics down and do some kayaking in the summer.

Yup Kinsmen is where i did them a few years back.

Former Co-workers of mine are a member of a paddling society in the city. They do winter training sessions at the kinsmen, and then trips almost every weekend during the summer. You could try phoning the kinsmen and see when they are booked for and for more info. If that avenue doesn't pan out, try MEC or Totem Outfitters on 99 st and 78 ave.
