Won't ship to Canada - Click HERE for Original Thread

rexxrally
Every so often, I run across a company that won't ship stuff out of the Continental US. It's really annoying, but not much I can do about it.

Are there any companies out there in the States that will accept deliveries and then turn around and ship them to Canada?

I'm not talking really expensive stuff. Just car parts, etc., $200 orders or less. So, I'm hoping somebody out there could do it for a $10 or $20 fee.

If there isn't anybody available, I'm thinking this might be a good potential business for somebody to look into..........

i believe i read it on beyond.ca that there is a warehouse right on the border that (sweetgrass i think) will let you ship there and then they will store the goods until you can come adn pick them up. this is easier for calgarians b/c they are that much closer to the border.

if i get a chance i will try to find the thread, but if your on beyond you may be able to find the thread.

The UPS Supply Chain store is located in Sweetgrass, MT. I think that is what you are referring to, since I did something similar. When I lived in Lethbridge, some friends of mine used this method to have stuff shipped.

Basically you get it shipped there, cross the border, pick it up, and cross again, pay the taxes and stuff.

Yeah, that's great if you're in range of the border. But, in Edmonton, we're not in range, and I really don't want to drive 6 hours down and 6 hours back. I need somebody who can ship it across the border to Edmonton.

you will have to pay 2x shipping plus the fee ....then the person who sends it out has the entire customs issues as well as the missing package issues for a product that is not even theirs. So if anything were to happen the tracking is pointless and I can see more issues happening with this system than it will really do to help anything.

To save a couple bucks(understatement) I don't think it is worth it. Buy from another retailer.

Sometimes you can't.;)

Do you have any friends or relatives in the US? My sister lives in California and would ship my ebay purchases to me if I saved a bunch on shipping by keeping it in the US.

I saved $17 on shipping a few times.

There are a few places that let you rent mailboxes. But it's pretty expensive unless your buying tons of stuff.
